Iron Bess
DAMN!!!!!!!!! This original skin ruptured on the drum! It will have to be replaced.... (insert small, pitiful sob here) They promised to find another spotter but I doubt they will find one like this. (Deep painful sigh..) Oh well, better for it to have the damage when it was there and THEY were testing it then for it to get all the way over here and THEN crash and burn. Still.... I did love that one. Well.... pictures when I get the new ones mates (sniff, sniff...) Well, you may not realize it but your looking at the remains of what was once a very handsome woman! Iron Bess
Okay, pictures of the NEW skin as the repairs are in progress. Truely, I liked the original one better but it's about the sound anyway. They are throwing in a new case for the my *being so nice about it* (That is really nice of them) What you think of this one? Rumba Rue
I have never seen a drum like that with the back cut away for holding or whatever. Nice drum.
Iron Bess
I have never seen a drum like that with the back cut away for holding or whatever.Nice drum. They are not the norm but are becoming more typical…. The cut outs I mean, More comfortable to hold and the deeper drum can make more tones as you adjust while you play. Yeah... I am right happy with it. ( And no one see's the creature on the drum head?? Look close....) Well, you may not realize it but your looking at the remains of what was once a very handsome woman! It's a nice piece, Bess. :) I know I would fancy it more as a weapon of prefered choice... which I suppose is another manner of making certain music. Mighty nice, Bess. Mighty nice. The rim artwork will have to wait until after the first of the year but who cares? 'Twill take a bit of time to break it in, get used to it's weight and tonal qualities... and... it seems to be calling itself *Inis* Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy! : ) Well, you may not realize it but your looking at the remains of what was once a very handsome woman! Iron Bess
Jill lass... Since you're duties with TOT7S have expanded... will you be bringing yer drum to Ojai? Red-Handed Jill
That's the plan! And my duties haven't expanded - I've always built furniture and props, did the swordfighting and helped Claire run events (or ran them myself); it's just been made official. What's nice is that other folks are being invited to do some of the stuff that a few of us have been doing so far. Give 'em a chance to flex some creative muscle! Black Hearted Pearl
Tis lovely lass. Will ye be bringing it to LORE? I plan on attending yer class. ~Black Hearted Pearl The optimist expects the wind. The pessimist complains about the wind. The realist adjusts the sails.
