PIRATES OF POINT LOMA

*********************

Comes to Old Town (San Diego) in October. World premiere Oct. 12, 2007

with previews beginning Oct. 5th. Presented at the Compadre Theatre at

the Adobe Chapel, 3950 Conde Street in Old Town San Diego.

San Diego may have been a sleepy backwater in 1850, while Northern

California was running wild with gold-rush fever, but that didn’t stop

the birthplace of California from producing its own band of genuine

pirates, according to a couple of early San Diego writers. These pirates

had a base on the west side of the Coronado Islands and they preyed on

gold-laden sailing ships headed south from San Francisco. Or so goes the

story.

Pirates of Point Loma is a rousing good tale, suitable for family and

visitors, featuring a half-dozen favorite sea shanties with new lyrics

and lots of bloodthirsty action.

Preview weekend is October 5th through Oct 7th with Pay-What-You-Can

admission for performances at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5 and 6,

and also at 4 and 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Oct. 6 and 7. Reservations

are suggested.

Opens formally on Friday, Oct. 12 at 8 p.m. and continue weekend

performances through October at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 4 and 6

p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Hangin at Execution dock awaits. May yer Life be a long and joyous adventure in gettin there!
As he was about to face the gallows there, the pirate is said to have tossed a sheaf of papers into the crowd, taunting his audience with these final words:

"My treasure to he who can understand."
