Red-Handed Jill Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Ooooh.... That is gorgeous! I did a bit more poking around - they've got some really nice armaments on that site.
Ransom Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Art and function blended to perfection. A beautiful piece. ...schooners, islands, and maroons and buccaneers and buried gold... You can do everything right, strictly according to procedure, on the ocean, and it'll still kill you. But if you're a good navigator, a least you'll know where you were when you died.......From The Ship Killer by Justin Scott. "Well, that's just maddeningly unhelpful."....Captain Jack Sparrow Found in the Ruins — Unique Jewelry Found in the Ruins — Personal Blog
Captain Midnight Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Do any merchants out there offer an escopeta similar in style to this? "Now then, me bullies! Would you rather do the gallows dance, and hang in chains 'til the crows pluck your eyes from your rotten skulls? Or would you feel the roll of a stout ship beneath your feet again?" ---Captain William Kidd--- (1945)
Capt. Sterling Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Sorry, looks ungainly to me... a nice fusil de chase is my next acquisition. "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... I was forced to write what I would say to prevent the loss of blood, and because of the pain I suffered by speaking."~ Woodes Rogers Crewe of the Archangel http://jcsterlingcptarchang.wix.com/creweofthearchangel# http://creweofthearchangel.wordpress.com/
Gentleman of Fortune Posted September 21, 2007 Author Posted September 21, 2007 Midnight The one shown was made from Rifle Shoppe parts. That is about the only game in town I believe for most things I have a feeling that most of the Indian Repros have been copied from Riffle Shoppe guns. Captain Stirling While not my favorite, the Escopeta has grown on me a little. I can't help but imagine how many of them were available, or at least "around" in the Caribbean during the GAoP. And, its something that we just don't see in the re-enacting community. For me though, I think I will get a Boucannier Musket. blackjohn Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Sorry, looks ungainly to me... a nice fusil de chase is my next acquisition. Don't let the looks deceive you. I ogled this escopeta at a recent event. It was one of the most extraordinarily handy firearms I've encountered. http://www.piratebrethren.com/johnsmith400...escopeta001.jpg whoa... huge pic... edited that to a link instead!
