blackjohn
What's this!!! Have you all forgotten old Tom?!?! I believe the harsh heat of the sun in those tropical climes has driven you all quite mad! Very well... pull up a chair... Thomas D'Urfey was a prolific song-writer, as well as collector of songs. He compiled, between 1698 and 1720, a six volume collection of songs with the very colorful title Wit and Mirth: Or Pills to Purge Melancholy. Once rather hard to find, I see a few volumes are available at Google Books. My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together. FLmermaid
Hello to all, I am fairly new and should probably have posted in the "newbie" area however, we attended PIP last year, had a FANTASTIC time and plan to return in '08 with more authentic garb and more crew. Although not a "professional musician" by any stretch I do enjoy playing in drum circles evey now and then so I was wondering if it would be ok to bring me drum and join in? Anxiously awaiting you replies, Flmermaid FLmermaid
RustyNell
Was going to start a new thread then i found this one - Here are some of the standard sea tunes we do - I copied this from our press kit - I'll come back and add more songs the keys later. Anyone interested in getting the charts please let me know I'm be happy to swap songs with ya. in fact I'll start a thread where we can post lyrics and chords. Most of these are public domain so there's no issues with doing that. I love not having to struggle to join in, so please add songs in your key as well so we all can join each other easily.
