Rats Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 I know there was a thread about converting desert boots to look similar to GAoP shoes... I've seen Chapman's! Just need the directions and some pics???? Thanks again and here's to you all! BTW Cabellas has them for about $60.... No rest for the wicked! Wait a minute... that's me?!
Black Mab Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 I think this is what you're looking for. https://pyracy.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=7&t=11342 I made my shoes based on the ideas in this thread (I'm afraid I don't remember which page it's on but the thread is only 3 pages long so it's not that bad) - it took minimal effort and they look great. Post pics! -Mab Avast, ye scurvy dog!
Red-Handed Jill Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 I'm still looking for a pair of desert boots or some reasonable facsimile in my size! Smallest I can find is around a men's seven - and I'm a woman's seven or seven and a half (men's size five), so this has me in a bit of a quandary.
Zephaniah W Nash Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 When I started converting the dress shoes, I was going to take pictures step-by-step, but it was too easy to do it... I followed the general directions here, to start. It does give a very few general directions -- most of what I did was do a search online for latchet shoes, find pictures of the ones I liked and cut the shoes to match. They're passable, at least, as can be seen in the thread that pretty much became about 'em here...
