Rats Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 I've been listened to a pair of CDs from Father Son and Friends for years and was wondering if anyone has ever seen then perform??? http://www.fathersonandfriends.com/ Rats No rest for the wicked! Wait a minute... that's me?!
Kathyrn Ramsey Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I have not had a chance to see the group as a whole. But this year at Pennsic, Joey (Father) and a group of other musicians played for nigh about 2 hours we caught the last hour and half. And it was great, also have heard him playing in his tent when he merchants. He does tend to play at Fort Fred. Hope this helps. Kathryn
Tudor MercWench Smith Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Never saw the show, no, but I was merchanting right next to him at Pennsic this year, so during slow hours and rehersals, we got free, private shows. Needless to say, they were awesome. Set such a good ambiance.
Rats Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 I've seen they call themselves the Orphans in some of the pics on their site???? I hope there wasn't an unfortunate "loss" in the band...? No rest for the wicked! Wait a minute... that's me?!
Kathyrn Ramsey Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 The orphans comment refers to when they are traveling without one another... They have not split up that I know of.
BriarRose Kildare Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Aye, thanks for the website Rats. I remember them up at Pennsic. They were awesome to watch perform. I absolutely love the music. They are an awesome group for sure. Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all. The Dimension of Time is only a doorway to open. A Time Traveler I am and a Lover of Delights whatever they may be. There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls.
jacobite Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 I have seen them play quite a few times at jacobite rebelion events and at the alafia river rendevouse...
