Although recent events in my life may change this.... I am hoping to be at the Toronto Pirate Festival over Labour Day weekend. If there is an "Adult Night" or "Night of Jolly Rogering" going on over that weekend, I will be attending that as well.... The one that was put on back in February was great!

I don't think there are many Toronto area pirates on this forum, but to all there are, hope to meet you there.

Some of our crew will be down to the festival for the Labour Day weekend.

And staying for the Jolly Rogering party :)

It was good last year, but unfortunately, Zoltan (who was the MC last year and the one who came up with the idea for the party) won't be there.

This year the fest is weapons allowed. Peace tied of course.

Still have to get the hotel rooms.

Well, I spent the afternoon at the Pirate Festival today. It was good fun, and perfect weather -- sunny but not too hot.

We browsed all of the vendors' stalls, but I spent most of my time in the pub. I was pleased to see they even had rum at the daytime events, although I wasn't actually able to indulge today because I had an English Country Dance to attend early this evening and thought it best to stay sober. So, I made do with lemonade.

At the Pirate Festival I watched two sets by the band Ceol Cara:

... and one by the duo Two Roads Home:

I recognized many of the folk songs and shanties in their repertoire and happily sang along.

Next year, I hope to be able to attend a "Night of Jolly Rogering".

Closing weekend ought to be a blast.

Guess lots of advertising went into the gay pride areas of the city.

It's going to be a 'Swish-buckling' event.

The party saturday night is now refered to as 'Under a rainbow flag'

My friends and I are looking forward to seeing what happens :)
