Quartermaster James
Thanks CrazyChole! I had just made knife tip slits for the prongs, enlarging them into proper holes helped a lot.
Capt. Bo of the WTF co.
This is a good time to suggest to all re-enactors to invest in a cheap hole punch set! The local discount outlet sells a set here for $5 that has several sizes of holes that interchange on the handle. Not period correct, but it doesn't take up much room and is easy to hide in the sewing kit. I cannot tell you how many times this has saved someones butt, mine included! Quartermaster James
Addendum: after fiddling with the buckles again last night, I revisited the installation instructions. Damn! Taking them off and putting them on correctly made a real world of improvement! For those who were wondering, yes it is possible to wear your buckles backwards a whole year! I think you're on to something there, Capt. Bo...leather doesn't drill too well!
