Gentleman of Fortune Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 CrazyChole This is off topic... but I really liked your previous signature graphic.... I miss it even! GoF Come aboard my pirate re-enacting site http://www.gentlemenoffortune.com/ Where you will find lots of information on building your authentic Pirate Impression!
Quartermaster James Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Thanks CrazyChole! I had just made knife tip slits for the prongs, enlarging them into proper holes helped a lot.
Capt. Bo of the WTF co. Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 This is a good time to suggest to all re-enactors to invest in a cheap hole punch set! The local discount outlet sells a set here for $5 that has several sizes of holes that interchange on the handle. Not period correct, but it doesn't take up much room and is easy to hide in the sewing kit. I cannot tell you how many times this has saved someones butt, mine included! Bo
Quartermaster James Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Addendum: after fiddling with the buckles again last night, I revisited the installation instructions. Damn! Taking them off and putting them on correctly made a real world of improvement! For those who were wondering, yes it is possible to wear your buckles backwards a whole year! I think you're on to something there, Capt. Bo...leather doesn't drill too well!
Rev.Sam Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 I am going to bump this thread, as thre are new pirates like me, a lookin for such things. Also, does anyone have pics of the shoes Zed converted? I am curious to see what he did to them.
