WAgh...... i SOO MUCH WISH THAT THEY HAD CHOSEN ME TER BE ON THAT SHOW......

(Ooops cap lock.....)

THe shows are designed to make the particepents look like jerks...... so what if one group decided to make the producer look like a jerk... and play by thier own Pyratical rules......

Yah... I'da gotten voted off by the fisrt show.... but at least I could have done it with some pyratical honnor.......

I ain't seen it (a friend vidioed it for me...).....

But I don't think they really understand exactly what a mutiny is.......

Aaaaargh... a mutiny on prime time TV.... WOH... think about it.......

I actually liked it. It was a bit drawn after the POTC theme for sure...but that was okay. I liked the decorative tidbits: the chest in the beginning, the skeletons with swords in them, the iron maiden. The ship is beautiful indeed. I liked JD for captain because he was in the navy for a bit and knew a bit of know how. John I felt bad for because he figured out the locks and found the treasure chest...but his cockey attitude ticked everyone off...the last straw was stealling the compasses. I am sure the crew did not look at that as a clever move, but a move against the good of the ship. People have to use psychology to win this one. It will be interesting to see the second show to get the gist of this one. I wonder how many twists there is to being captain and finding loot.

like any of their actions are even reality. You know that the director set John up to steal the compasses and thus be labeled the devious pirate. they probably go ahead and slip them little ideas here and there to make the show interesting.

Last night's episode was interesting. What will it take for JD to get overthrown? On any ship the food and money situation would have been enough to get him voted off.

I had the unfortunate luck to flip onto this show.

Complete rubbish. I wish I had those 45 seconds back.....

Bet none of them know (except the real crew of the Picton Castle) that the ship has been used in porno flicks. B)

It's sort of getting interesting....jumping into a swamp of poisonous snakes isn't a real smart idea....I wonder what would have happened had someone actually gotten bitten....

Though the Captain is a nice site for us women to look at, he's a jerk.

But you know, I have to give him credit for trying to buy off the bosun to keep an eye on the rest of the group. What a pirate! B)

So far I like the show. I don't seriously think those where poisonous snakes...could you imagine the Insurance they would have to take out on this show. Also the bit about the part that there are sharks in the water was interesting. A participant on the Wiki Board for Pirate Master from Dominica said there were no sharks in their waters. I don't think they would seriously place the cast in danger for insurance reasons. I think it is trumped up for the audience to appeal to the danger aspect.

I like Captain Joe Don...he can be a bit arrogant but you have to be top dog. He looks really fine in that coat and hat with no shirt on standing at the helm in the breeze..mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm!

The show has been entirely scripted out in advance...of course the producers are telling Joe what to do with every move...they know that a "mutiny" will be the big money-shot of the season, so they can't have that happen too soon...need to let the faux-frustration with Joe boil over in the coming weeks.

As a buddy put it the other day....it's first class "irritainment"! You know it's bad, you hate yourself for watching...yet you can't look away. Irritainment. Brilliant!

My Take on the show, which will prolly piss off a few folks, but hell thats nothing new:

These shows are scripted to a certain extent, but the producers know that without some element of reality, without using professional actors, no one is going to believe jack. Hell, they asked me to be on it, and I am no actor!

Lets us not forget that the object of the show, for the cast, is for the winner to get a million dollars, not wind up with a happy crew or rich crew. If'n I was JD, I'd be black spottin anyone who i thought might be competition in the later stages, while I could still do that. Louie, the bosun fella and that Asoroth feller would be black spotted til they was off the show.

LOL i'd rather go up against a bunch of girls at the end.

BTW the snakes used were all constrictors, anaconda, what looked like a Costa Rican boa and members of the rat snake family. Nasty bites, but nothin that would kill ya.

I do like the idea of the crew givin the producers, director and cameramen Jonas lift over the side and stealing the ship! now that's entertainment!

As far as having a smoke stack and gas motor, I know of very few ( none actually) tall ships that don't have that. After all, when your sailing a ship thats worth $1,000,000 or more, are you takin a chance on foul winds driving you onto a lee shore??? Despite the motor, this one is a sailer and right nice one too. Loved the shot when she had all canvas aloft, t'gallants, skys'les and royals and pocket hankerchiefs! But you can bet the cast is not climbing out on the yard, standing on horses, to let fall sails.

That guy John (?) that got voted off first episode... didn like him from the first time he opened his mouth. The lasses liked him, i'm sure, but what a asshole. On a real pirate ship, he'd a gotten a capstan bar to the face, to sort of rough up his looks and smarten his mouth. good ridance sez I. Stealin compasses? Like the ship dont have but those two tinkertoy ones? The script writers should have been made ta kiss the gunners daughter for that dopey rouse.

None of those snakes looked poisonus to me. There is no way the network is going to do that. There was just constrictors, and South American versions of what we call water snakes and rat snakes. They do bite. But all you are going to get is sexy teeth marks in your skin to show off to your mates on the ship.

I like the show. And ill watch it too the end. I like Louie the best. I think he has the best pirate attitude. And I think he has some tricks up his sleave. That we will see later.

Im shure to some of the hard core pirate life style people out there, the show is lacking some. But I say its better than nothing.

Snakes....... I hate snakes......

Maybe it is a good thing they didn't pick me to be on th' show.....

All the snake lovers would be really upset when I started killing snakes.....

Snake skins are good for all sorts o' craft projects tho........

True true!! I just thought it was a little funny that this Tall ship has a "Titanic" smoke stack! This fishing trawler turned tall ship has steel everything so I'm sure it'll be fine when it runs a ground. If I was pouring two million dollars into turning a fishing boat into a square-rigger, I would at least try and conceal the stack for authenticity?

I can think of 10 people right off the top of me head what would scared the living f**k out of these lubbers, and they're all right here on the Pub. That's a compliment, blokes!

Yo ho ho! Or does nobody actually say that?

You would think that the crew would have looked at 'em as food.. I told me wife thet when watchin the show.. Two spoons of rice chum they got while the Capt. pigs out.... I guess they figure thet would add to the tension and angst of the show.. Peta would have bitched a storm up ifen they ate 'em....

Hmmm, a couple of thoughts.

1) P.E.W. - If you seriously watched the show for only that little bit of time, you really didn't see enough to judge it properly.

2) The stupid girl who couldn't swim... now I seem to remember filling out the application for the show. A major requirment was a) being able to swim and swim well, and  knowing how to work a ship.

So the mere fact she was a horrible swimmer just means they went with stupid twits.

I'm tired of reality shows being filled with Firemen, Lawyers, Bartenders, Strippers, and just plain crazies...
