Silent
I've posted this before but I can't find it so I'm asking again. Anyone know where I can get auth. 1600's - 1700's eye glasses? Maybe ones I can have frams fitted to?
pyrateleather
There are a few different types available at Jas Townsend from the 15th to 19th Century. http://www.PyrateTradingCompany.com

Captain Jim
Be advised that eyeglasses with temples (the part that goes over your ear) are not period as they were not invented until 1725 or later (don't have the reference at hand just now.) Contacts are better, as are pince nez (those little hang-on-the-nose glasses) as are the "scissors" fold-up variety that you hold in your hand. My occupational hazard bein' my occupation's just not around...

Oh yeah I forgot about contacts guess I've been wearing glasses for to long. But should I be conserned about sea sail from the water that sprays in the air getting behind them and touching my eyes? Captain Jim
Mind you that I do not at this time wear contacts, but my understanding is that as long as there's no sand in the water, you're good. It's the hard stuff that hurts. My occupational hazard bein' my occupation's just not around...
