Silent Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 (note: I looked around and couldn't find a post like this) So I wanted to build a pirate bar at home for me and me mates. I'm not quit sure what is going to make it work so I wanted to ask you all on your ideas. I know that I want a big wooden table(round) with dablooms on it and rum bottles. Maybe a chest where I keep my rum and or drinking games. A few flags here and there. Now I'm stuck, I don't know where to get anything online for my bar. Do you know where I can get some items that'll really make it pop? Also do you have any ideas on your own pirate bar and what would make it stand out.

Pew Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 There's a great thread in blackjohn's Pirate bretheren site.... Lemme see.... http://www.piratebrethren.com/forum/viewto...topic.php?t=287 Goode info. , Skull and Quill Society , The Watch Dog "We are 21st Century people who play a game of dress-up and who spend a lot of time pissing and moaning about the rules of the game and whether other people are playing fair."
pyrateleather Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I rent my house so I can't build anything too elaborate but my pirate bar consists of a bar made of old whiskey casks, a couple of boat shelves with some pirate swag, and various Jolly Rogers on the ceiling. Also found a great old barrel shaped shelf for glassware. The historical stuff pictured in Blackjohn's forum is great. If you ever catch the MTV show Viva La Bam, in one of the older episodes they turn the basement into a pirate bar. My personal favorite part is the stone fireplace with skulls inlaid into the mantle. http://www.PyrateTradingCompany.com
Captain J. Savage Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 If you ever catch the MTV show Viva La Bam, in one of the older episodes they turn the basement into a pirate bar. My personal favorite part is the stone fireplace with skulls inlaid into the mantle. After reading what you said I bought the episode on iTunes for $1.99. It really turned out great with the exception of the cheesy mundane items spray painted gold. If anyone's curious which one it is: Season 2, Episode 2: "Don Vito's Date."
