Dictionary of the vulgar tongue

Should get you started.

The secret key to using a Shakespeare quote to "swear" is to do it often enough that the phrase gets really comfortable for you. I have one that I use as part of my normal vocabulary. It doesn't feel so contrived that way. Plus it always gets a funny look & shuts people up ;)

"If part of the goods be plundered by a pirate the proprietor or shipmaster is not entitled to any contribution." An introduction to merchandize, Robert Hamilton, 1777

There's a few quotes in "Captured by Pirates" that include "dog" and "SOB"...

Yours, Mike

Try these for starters- "A General History of the Pyrates" edited by Manuel Schonhorn, "Captured by Pirates" by John Richard Stephens, and "The Buccaneers of America" by Alexander Exquemelin.
