callenish gunner
hooked a friend up to netzero ...she's doing fine on it she went for the $14.95 highspeed premium plan and gets full antivirus protection along with the isp takes a moment or 2 to connect to webpages and downloads are slower than dsl/broadband but for the internet and casual user it works fine ...best of luck lass as opposed to the $25 a mon. for aol
Silkie McDonough
My advice, stay away from AOL! It is a B**ch to cancel. I work customer service for a bank. We are continually getting calls from people who have had to file claims for charges canceled several months ago but AOL has kept charging them. Additionally, if you do go with them, don't use their browser window, it often has trouble interfacing with other sites ...well at least ours. If you do use them, I suggest using a different browser window. I like Firefox.
Merrydeath
thank you both for that info.. I looked and we have 2-4 numbers I can use for Dial up here. It will cost me for phone and dial up what it costs for just the NetCable now... about $45. and I'll try to stay away from AOHELL.. LOL anyone else have any ideas? If you do use them, I suggest using a different browser window. I like Firefox. I used them back in the Dark Ages and it was a HUGE chore to stop their service. I kept going back and forth with one of their "service" reps who kept trying to talk me into staying. After several minutes of a fruitless arguing, I told him I was so serious about quitting AOL that I would cancel my credit card that AOL used for billing and that WOULD stop the service. At that point, the guy finally believed that I truly meant what I said about wanting to discontinue using AOL.

Cpt Sophia M Eisley
Argh...AOL is a pain in the you know what. I remember using them in the early 90's, and then trying to switch to something else. Never again. Much luck to yah Merrydeath. I've used several types of net service, Roadrunner being the best, and most expensive so far ($50/month - cable modem via Brighthouse). Perhaps we'll meet again under better circumstances. ---(---(@ Dead Men...Tell No Tales. Welcome, Foolish Mortals...
