CaptainSatan Posted February 23, 2007 Share Posted February 23, 2007 Anyone in the Northern Texas Republic interested in going to PIRATES IN PARADISE FESTIVAL in November 2007? I'm looking for way to haul my period camp to the site. Otherwise it's the lubber hotel for me if I be flyin'. I'm looking for someone that can get their grubby pyrate paws on a van or truck. My 79 Jeep is getting too old for long voyages. Am especially interested in travelling with some else into period camping. Ladies who look especially fetching in my camp would also be suitable I am hoping to avoid having to borrow a van from my friends in the local Chinese Mafia (I hate oweing favours with compound interest). michaelsbagley Posted April 6, 2007 Share Posted April 6, 2007 It's still a long way off, but I am very determined to go (but can't guarantee it quite yet).... So with all of that in mind, if I go, I will be driving from central Ohio. If there is anyone from that area who is interested and could benefit from a ride, please let me know. With a bit more effort, I could arrange to go slightly out of my way to pick up anyone in southern Ohio, western West Virginia, or I don't imagine Eastern Kentucky or Tennessee would be too far out of my way either. Or if there is anyone from Western Pennsylvania, Michigan, or Indiana who would be willing to drive themselves to Ohio, they could park their vehicle at my place and we could share a ride the rest of the way. I'm not sure if I am going to try to marathon drive the 20 hour trip (having extra drivers would help with this), or break it up over two days with a hotel stay after a good full day's drive (or camping, if on a shoestring budget). Callenish Gunner will be coming from North of Pittsburgh. I will be coming from just west of Philadelphia. Anyone considering PiP may want to consider the van-pool. Although nothing has been set in stone yet, I briefly discussed joining this caravan/van pool with Callenish coming in from Columbus to meet in Pittsburgh. It will be myself and my better half Jessica (assuming all goes well). It's still way too early to tell for sure, but the project I am currently working on is looking to be going into a bit of a lull at the time of PiP, so the odds of my being able to attend and join this caravan/van pool are looking very good (if you'll have us). Just so you know, I own a minivan, and have offered (assuming I can make it) to drive and use my vehicle for the pool.
