  1. Those shoes looks good* - are they the same from the shoe thread? *The whole shebang looks good, too, don't get me wrong.
  2. I think these are mostly lists of stores. If fish is being caught from the ship, it wouldn't necessarily be listed in the stores.
  3. I couldn't find any iron grenados on that page...
  4. Thanks for the info. I'll make sure to bring some orzo to add to every dish in place of maggots...
  5. Royaliste, did I see your beautiful vessel on a canadian TV show about the history of the great lakes, reenacting a raid on Ontario during the War of 1812?
  6. This is an excellent idea, and well worth investigating.
  7. What events are you going to - I always pay for drinks. Well, I mean my friends pay for drinks, and then I drink theirs. I get the feeling this will catch up with me this summer as I type this... Seriously, though, I have attended this event, and it is a lot of fun. And it's a young event - these sort of growing pains are bound to happen. Now, if Nathan can find reasonable solutions to the fund-raising, then an event with three other large boats and five more cannon would be a blast - and maybe, just maybe, other performance crewes could get a travel stipend (or something like that) too. That's just an idea - I don't want to put words in Nathan's mouth. But I do know that there is no chance of anythinf like that if there is no event - and there is a good chance of no event if there's no insurance.
  8. I think the solution is fairly obvious...but I won't discuss it over a public forum.
  9. I don't remember it, but was it perhaps something like this?
  10. I believe they are ten, but they tend to go a little bit larger, so they could fit a 10.5 or 11. They've been worn maybe a dozen times.
  11. There was a fellow at a table in the vendor section - he wasn't selling anything, but he was displaying a large collection of original swords. Does anyone know who he was and where I can contact him?
  12. I'm sort of just interested in the coins...
  13. Happy Birthday! Sorry I'm late - I was in the Pacific NW on vacation.
  14. I make it myself when I can. And when I can't, I have someone else make it for me for cost. And if he or she can't - I buy. But making it yourself, or having someone else make it for you for cost of materials and whatnot, is actually quite affordable. It just isn't quick.
  15. Sorry to necro this thread, but it sounds as though someone has been paying attention... Buccaneer Bay It looks pretty cool - I wish it were closer, or the dollar was stronger...
  16. Removal of a thread from the wrong sub-forum.
  17. In my experience, Goodwill is chock-filled with blue blazers.
  18. I've never done it - but I have thought about it. And I think you could shorten the coat, use the stuff you take off the bottom to make the cuffs, re-shape the lapel (most men's jackets don't have facing fabric on the underside of the collar - you could use some of the stuff you took of the bottom for that, too) and redo the buttons and button holes on the front. The collar will stand up fairly easily if you experiment with the iron. I would recommend getting a good image of the collar/lapels you want, before you remove any material.
  19. The only one I can vouch for is the Guyenne deck from Heritage Products. That deck is based off of one produced in France from ~1717 tp ~1750. I almost bought a deck myself on multiple occasions, each time with my wife's suggestions that I could do that myself echoing in my ears. I'm getting a complete linoleum-cutting kit this weekend, and will be starting on this project soon (as soon as my brother-in-law can hook me up with some nice sheets of soft, print-grade linoleum.)
  20. You really know how to give a guy coat envy.
  21. Looks like we cross-posted. I asked for a friend of mine who oopsed a project - I oopsed a project, but then oopsed it some more trying to fix it. That which does not kill me makes me stronger.
  22. Mr. Bagley, I am once again indebted to you. AWESOME. I have seen some climbing gear from Europe (like Mamut), and many of those garments have buttons on the left side, so I figured it wasn't a hard-and-fast rule.
