Attn Iron Bess: About the Alice in Wonderland ride
MadL replied to Christine's topic in Beyond Pyracy
The toad's ride was there last I saw, but I think there was a sign that stated : "No Licking Allowed". I think a lot o' this come out in rumor for I was told that the pirates no longer chase women around 'n was forced t' chase chickens now, also I was told the wench auction was removed as well, yet they both still be there from what I saw. However I have not been back now that the POTC modifications took place. Truly I state, if they wish t' take th' hookah from th' worm then they best 'Go talk t' Alice, BEFORE she is ten feet tall'!!! Now if they really wish t' modify the Haunted Mansion, then they really should go speak with Hue Hefner for that man REALLY knows how t' make a haunted house!!! {not sure on that? seek out Elvira's DVD of said subject!} -

not particularly GAoP but according to article there be a certain spot along California, Pirate Cove, what was once used heavy by 'smugglers', a type o' pirate ye know. Now the residence o' this area, according t' article, did not fear th' pirates what did much rum smuggling 'n other ill deeds in Pirate Cove but instead "protected the pirates and even assisted in efforts"! Wow, it must be tough t' be a west coast pirate when ye ha'e t' come ashore in hopes t' unload yer booty but instead o' ha'en t' fight off Spaniards ye find yerself be'n mobbed by a naked female volleyball team o' Valley Girls!!!

Some o' th' prettiest "daggers" I ha'e seen be ones made from the tip o' broken swords 'n cutlass, t'would also occur t' me that this would be fully 'period' see'n as true warrior o' th' times would not want t' waist such a valuable resource. Just ha'e not seen anyone going this route...? Also another angle I ha'e fancied be blades made from walrus 'n whale baleen. Here be some fine ones, some may e'en notice other items there appear t' look somewhat familiar t' other items I meself wear Whale Baleen knives - "Tellmewhereonearth" (scroll way down) Various 'sea life' blades - "Tellmewhereonearth" Cave Bear Fossil blades - "Tellmewhereonearth" - 'n while ye there, how 'bout some genuine Poop Jewelry? Fossil Poop - really! - 'er a bit more 'period': Maori Fish Hook (the real deal, not novelty types) **also check out their 'Shark' section 'n their 'Alligator' section...I did

Tis a bit hard t' see details o' the whole flag; appears t' be a devil/demon skeleton hold'n ?? somethin' in each hand, somethin' perhaps a ship's wheel at the bottom, with a star 'n crescent moon above? Perhaps it would help if ye tells the current mean'n behind the 'old design', such as what the celestial items currently represent, and o' course what is he currently hold'n in he's out stretched arms? Explanation such as how an hourglass been used to state t' th' prey "Yer time be run'n out!", 'er how heads been used t' represent the captain's most hated foes. Ye say it be "too busy", now that be where I fall short t' seriously help as I too tend t' get 'busy' in designs, often they may look 'pretty' but for a flag in reason they most certainly fall out o' 'period' 'n become more "Hollywood/fantasy" this be true. But perhaps; loose the celestial bodies, less'n have firm course for the ship's moto, then perhaps instead o' the 'wheel' item on th' bottom try change'n t' a simple ocean wave outline o' some sort t' become th' "chariot"? 'er e'en leave the bottom symbol out all t'gether see'n as how th' Jolly Roger usually depicts th' captain rather then th' ship....

I feel a fare wind a stir'n 'n the dolphins be gather'n at me bow, smell o' rum be in th' air while th' whisper o' siren sweet be a call'n!

Aye roytheodd, I ha'e the same blade from them as well...er' actually it be a different one, I did not take yers, mine is mine! 'n it come with a fine all leather sheath as well. But McDrago be correct, find'n a proper pirate dagger be a real pain in arse indeed!! So many out there for Renaissance, Dark Ages, Civil War....but from late 1500's to early 1700's they all just seem to disappear....I am beginning to think th' stories o' pirates carrying daggers is all just myth they be, all just myth! Howe'er, then ye can go with the writen's that pirates did not really carry daggers as the ship would be too crowded 'n there would run too much risk o' damage'n a sail if carrying around a large 'n sharp blade. Some say that all 'sharpies' where kept under lock 'n key then not handed out till a battle began. Somehow I do not subscribe t' pirates be'n such well behaved and controll'd crews as royal navy ships, seems more t' me that once turned pirates most tossed such "regimented" ways of life aside, became more 'ruffians' and 'beatniks' and 'packs-o-sea-dogs'. Aside from perhaps a recent crew who was pressed into piracy, I doubt many pirates gave up their personal blade collection without a bloody fight...but then there was most likely many, many, Many different variety o' pirate crews, aside from just the few that made it into history books. But ye be correct McDrago, I too have scoured the Seven Internets and found the pickens very, Very slim indeed aside from fantasy and Hollywood types, aside from 'stainless steel'....'n who be want'n a blade if ye can't get some manly blood stains upon it???? Oh, and roytheodd, don't hold yer breath on that other one lad, I spotted that one a LONG time ago, they advertise it but NEVER have it in stock...? Looking closer, I do believe it may be one o' those ones out'a India, photo looks nice but quality no where near what ye got in the one from Layalist

It say: "Please contact Bad Jack, or Mike & Bernice from Pirates N' Plunder." Sounds like a couple o' bloody pirates if'n ye asks me it does! I be go'n, e'en if nobody shows up then at least I will ha'e reason t' loot th' locals 'n plunder th' tourists on me way home

Well, I started out o' high school in the 70's with a beautiful classic 1961 Triumph 350 3TA motor cycle, NOT a Cub for it was an honest 3TA. But Angie was taken from me by a fool who ran a red light, did not even have time t' hit the brakes I did not. While I no longer own her, Angie now sits fully restored in a local antique museum. Tis a long story, just glad someone with love for old bikes had hunt me down for I was ha'en no luck in find'n the needed parts. After that I drove a couple clunkers, then got into VW bugs, had a couple o' those, then after me divorce in the 80's I got me a Toyota pickup, that one was red and turned out t' be a 'bullseye' for a crazed Canadian 16-wheeler who tried t' save fuel by climb'n in the back....??? Totally destroyed her he did! Banged me up quit the bit as well (see'n as how he rode me down th' interstate like a roller skate fer at least 1/4 mile!!). After that I got another Toyota pickup, a newer one, a much more bet'er one! But it was red as well and first some lass tried get'n too horny with me and shoved her little Z-28 thing up me rear....I told her I wasn't into that 'n made her pay for the repairs! Then that one lasted quite the while until two year ago when another lass saw me 'n let her hormones run wild as well (aye, it be a curse), she rammed right through the car behind me at a stop light try'n t' get t' me, so hard she rammed her Suburban into the car behind me into me, me into the car in front o' me AND that car into the car infront o' her!!! (this lass wanted me BAD!) - another truck destroyed....'n the whore would not e'en give me her phone number!!! Well, after that I got a much more bet'er truck, a Ford! A black Ford, a Jolly Roger Ford it be!! But then just last year, again at a stop light, some darn Don rammed me!!! How Many Time Must I Tell Them; I AINT INTO THAT SORT O' THING!??! 'n this one did not e'en have any insurance nay was he e'en in the US legally!!! I got the royal screw from that bastard! So, now I be ha'en yet another car, nay a truck this time, I went for the Explorer for it give me room for me two daughters and their three daughter (aye, I be start'n me own brothel! Look out Scarlett Harlott!!). Here be me new ship: The Flying Dutchess ...anyone need a ride t' the Big Bear faire Saturday? honest, got room for one more!!

callenish gunner; as I still have t' wait for me check t' come (later this month) before I choose t' commit, do ye have a site or photo o' what ye have in stock? (excluding blunderbuss 'n rifles for me but others might like t' see them). I like the style of the Harper's Ferry but know it did not come about until after 1806 and I would like t' stay older then 1750 at least, I read in one article: {quote} The earliest known citation of the phrase 'going off at half-cock' comes from London and Its Environs Described, 1761: "Some arms taken at Bath in the year 1715, distinguished from all others in the Tower, by having what is called dog locks; that is, a kind of lock with a catch to prevent their going off at half-cock." {end quote} Now the English 62 cal. doglock is also very appealing to me and from what I have read it dates around the early 1600s. On the subject of reading materials for the beginner, I have found these two articles on the net, what others do ye seasoned 'Big Baby BOOMERS' have t' recommend and what do ye think of the material written in these two, agree 'er disagree?: Flintlocks: How to Shoot Them Flinklock: Beginner's FAQs oh, Captain Jim, those Pepto-green shots sound like just the thing t' have after a big feast at the in-laws! 'n if'n a feud should break out then just load up with rock salt!!

*LOL* oderlesseye!!! but could ye just wound for th' moment, I still want t' see if he finds th' fountain o' youth! They most likely will not do a POTC V so shoot between the eyes after IV callenish gunner; do not temp me with yer evil pics o' blunderbuss!!! I would like one so bad but have committed to purchasing a pistol FIRST...then will see about funds for th' Blunder! Now, I see ye have posted a photo o' a double barrel, I like those too but they be too new and miss the GAoP so for me that one is out until I can afford t' "collect", right now for me it be stay'n t' the period (then embellish lat'er ) With th' notion o' th' doglocks, what style can ye come up with that would fit th' GAoP? Preferably not a brass barrel, while they look nice 'n shiny I feel the barrel would be softer, require more care, 'n perhaps not as durable....or is this wrong? Also, when considering the GAoP, did they even have brass barrels then? As for the steel shot....don't think I would go duck hunt'n...might accompany oderlesseye on a sparrow hunt however 'n what would a duck be do'n put'n a spent lead shot in he's mouth for anyway?? Do they think flintlocks shoot jaw breakers?!!? Now I also remember a part o' the Cutthroat o' Corona where it was also mentioned 'Symmetrical' vs 'Non-Symmetrical' rounds; the advise at th' seminar was to "Avoid the non-symmetrical" even though some claim they be better and can travel further. Personally I would feel the non-symmetrical could give rise t' some serious complications if they were not poured just right....misconception?

Hold on a minute....I thought this be the Jay Bird thread, not the Hollywood thread??? ...perhaps these Jay Birds be really latex chickens?
-
Ye mean it not be proper fer a pirate t' wear cheekless chaps 'n a spiked latex harness while on the poop deck??? What 'bout 6 inch spike heeled captain boots?? Nipple rings with chains that connect back t' ear?? ....uh oh, bet'er stop before I get set ashore with nay but a pistol 'n single shot!
