  1. Depends on how you are judging.

    1) Attitude

    2) Appearance

    3) Behavior

I know a few "hippie" types that just "read" as pyrate.

it's funny that you mention hippie types. I know many that think of me as a hippie, I dress like one and sometimes act like one. But the people that know me definitely think of me as a pirate. I don't love peace, I pilfer, I plunder, I drink, and I curse like a goddamn sailor. But I just "read" as a hippie, but I'm a pirate inside, it's the opposite of how you mentioned. How do the two go hand in hand, may I ask?

  2. Aye, I will be sure to pilf- er buy that book as soon as there are more!

Ahoy, Hana! Raising Black Flags is now available from www.Blackbead-jewelry.com, Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble.com, Books-A-Million.com, or ye can stop by me next market set-up and purchase one direct! I'll be at The Embarqadero in Dallas this Saturday! See ye there??

Rum. You need rum and lots of it. If I may take a quote from another pirate.

"Rum gives pirates super powers.. to use against... the dutch."

In my case the Spanish but hey, to each their own. ;)

  7. In truth, a Woman wants everything from One Man while a Man wants One thing from Every Woman

LMAO!!!!!!!! That's pretty funny, but also so true! It also reminds me of this quote from When Harry Met Sally:

"Women need a reason to have sex, men just need a place."

    HAHAHA SO true!

and Christine, I love that movie! haha

  8. Whip-thin and tall, with silky dark hair contrasting starkly with his pale skin. Grey-blue eyes under straight, raven dark brows. Sensuous deep-pink lips and ever-so-slightly snaggled teeth.

He's arrogant (for good reason), a little rough around the edges, and wild enough to be a bit dangerous.

And his fashion sense is cooler than cool.

[Yeah, okay, so I'm describing the young Paul Weller ... but he'd make a fantastic model for a pirate captain in a romance novel!]

    Cheers, Hester

Haha you just described my dream man!;):huh:;);)

  9. Aye, twas great fun. I be there yesterday afternoon and bought the tricorn hat I be donnin in me new avatar pic, and a clay ocarina, even though methinks i been ripped off (even though the man be givin me a discount on account of me bein short 3 dollars. he be tellin me to tell no soul, but he not be knowin i be a pirate that be uncapable of keepin a secret), because the notes just dont be soundin quite right.

other than that, it be very good. i saw lots of other swashbucklers.

  10. Have ye ever noticed how a properly fit tricorn won't blow off yer noggin in a stiff wind? Aerodynamics (actually, fluid dynamics. But I was an engineering geek). Not that they knew of such back then, just as they didn't fully understand the aerodynamic properties of a sailing ship - if you cut down her quarterdeck and fo'c'sle, she ran a damn sight faster than those what didn't. That's all that mattered to them.

I appreciate a hat that won't blow off when I'm on deck or astride a horse. :)

Aye! Tis true! I be wearin a tricorn at the renaissance festival, and even with the strongest breezes me hat stayed firmly on me head.

  11. I went to the Renaissance Festival in Deerfield Beach, in South Florida yesterday. It be real fun. Only, I didn't know there be pirates in the medieval times. there be loads of other pirates roaming the bazaar. did anyone else go to this fest and be there anyone that knows whether or not pirates existed back then?

  12. "hollywood is where i be callin home. only problem is how i  may get to key west for that pirate meet-ing and greet-ing thing-y"

Well, seeing as we live right up the street from you in Hollywood I'm sure we can help you get to Key West and join in on all the fun when the time comes...

That be real nice, thank ye for the offer!
