  1. Interesting ... i think today's depiction of pirate lingo is really just the result of Hollywood's spin on pirates... After all pyracy was not an anomaly.. it was worldwide... spanning from b4 the beginning of recorded history to present day.... and of course pirates from their own areas of the world would have spoken in their own accents and dialects... i think WE (meaning English speaking)choose the English pirate accent as the accepted.. seeing that for us it obviously is the easiest to replicate... just my thoughts...
  2. I don't drink tea or coffee.. or anything with caffeine for that matter.. but a nice cup of hot lemon with cloves and ginger hits the spot.. or a good cranberry lemon ginger and clove toddy... Sugar in Chinese tea..? obviously u're NOT Chinese... lol

  4. so far there is only Cap'n John and I.. but we may be able to commander Cap't Bedlam and his lady to join our crewe.. so that would put us at a grand total of 4...
  5. not sure what to do with the geetar.. but i generally take along my pipa (chinese lute) in replacement of ... the body shape and sound have remained the same for about 500 yrs.. so they r a pretty good trade off.. of course u will have to learn how to play the lute.. but u can play anything on it that u play on the geetar!!!! and it's period...

  7. Cap'n John and I will be heading down for sure.. but we haven't any concrete plans as to where we will be staying as yet.. I'm still hoping to be a vendor this year.. but won't know until Harry gets back to me in the summer...
  8. "Help ye with what?" the Captain retorted. " Explain yer presence on my ship?" The lady's devilish grin softened to a seductive smiled as she glided across the deck toward the Captain's quarters.

  10. Cap'n John and I will be driving down from Torontuga (Toronto)about a week b 4 PIP and makin a stop to visit friends on Anna Maria Island... we'll likely head down a few days ahead depending on whether or not I get to be a vendor or not... *crossing fingers Harry agrees to give me a chance* Might have room for a pirate or two from Sarasota down if any r interested...

  14. wow... beautiful costume piece.. i try to NEVER be of the upper class or royalty at any outdoor event in the heat... it is not conducive to my pirate persona..lol although i have been known to don my Eliz the oneth costume for the right price... it's ridiculously hot and weighs about 40 lbs... took me a week and about 15 hours of hand sewing and 40 yards of fabric i just prefer bein a Pirate or a Gypsy... this is the Liz costume.. yes i was paid handsomely to wander about a castle for 4 hours in character i prefer to look like this or this... i'm the blonde on the end ok.. enough digressing.. this is not at all pertaining to PIP anymore...lol
  15. I plan on being at PIP this year ... not quite sure in what capacity.. hoping to be a vendor/sutler... spoke to Harry.. so I have my fingers crossed ... any ideas for a pirate bribe... lol

  19. i'm kinda partial to pirate attire.. but the next best thing is gypsy... given neither of those arrr available i like my man in cargos and t's or skater shorts... i like long hair and a nicely trimmed goatee.. my guy has waist long dreads as well and an earring... he really is a pirate no matter how ya dress 'em
