  1. Well, na, I think the round is back to you! Welcome, past due ~
  2. Ah, you are quite close to us! We are only 15minutes from O'Hare - should our schedules work out, we'd be happy to be your traveling support group! I wonder if Archangel is going?
  3. OMG! I can't believe I forgot the MOST IMPORTANT piece of my wardrobe! HATS! Specifically, piratically, my tricorn. (sigh) I love hats.
  4. Ah, several items in the closet at this moment, but I guess you are looking for an individuals ideal costume? It would be: justaucorps, waistcoat, corset, plain linen shirt, trewes, my LOVELY boots, belts, lace handkerchief, and assorted baubles. Layers, essentially. Much as I love fancy dress, skirts and corsets, they can get too warm and difficult to get around in. So, lovely fabrics, in a practical (piratical?)form.
  5. Right you are, Silkie ~ we didn't formally meet. PiP was our first venture into pirates and re-enactments. I know the skirt and boots were OOP, but we were welcomed in nonetheless (better than the "fashion" pirates, I guess - goodness, what a sight they were!). We'll be attending PiP 2007, should you be there, please give us a holler!
  6. Welcome, welcome! You are in good company here ~ Browse around through the forums before you begin your costume - lots of great information and super-knowledgeable people to get you on the right path.
  7. Storyline? STORYLINE? Awww, c'mon folks ~ you want storyline, buy a book! This is just entertainment ~ Yes, we saw it - X-rated if you please - and considering it was in the porn category, we thought it was quite good. Actually, I thought it was a sight better than some of the major B movies out there - have you seen some of that crap? At least this was funny, and not too bad on detail (considering).
  8. Hmmm, looks like it was cobbled together from odds 'n ends ~
  9. "Is this - Sea of Tranquility? Sea of Tranquility? Is this Sea of Tranquility? Sea of Tranquility? There's no one around!” (OK, this might be a stretch for many o' you - 'tis a comedian, formerly of Monty Python - tis a hoot! if you have never heard 'im.)
  10. I had just sent a donation their way, received this back from Kathy by way of reply: Thank you so much for your help, Donna! We are touched, overwhelmed and amazed at the generosity of the online piratical community! Most everything belowdecks was completely drenched in diesel-tainted water, so the past 3 days were spent hauling heavy trash bags of wet "stuff" off the ship and into storage if salvageable or the local dump (all six mattresses had to be tossed). The laundry we face is a daunting task, but necessary as we can't imagine replacing ALL our clothing, costumes linens, etc. If you know of any trick to eliminate the smell of diesel, we'd love to hear it. (Recommendation provided: vinegar added to the laundry.) Royaliste suffered some damage during the recovery/uprighting process, plus some caulking was pulled from seams in the hull while she lay on er side, so a haulout with a thorough inspection is due. Gary revived the motor and tranny miraculously, so we were able to motor 10 miles to a marina with power and water and a gated ramp, this morning. We plan to keep her there a month as we do cleanup and repairs, then head north to Holden Beach and a boat yard for a haul out and thorough inspection of her hull. Trust that we will use the money you sent wisely. Royaliste will sail again soon, we promise.
  11. Ah, perhaps this will jog the ol' gray matter a wee bit ~ M'self and the hubby were "NEW" and Braze and Cascabel and good Captain Finbar and his wife and the Commodore and That and so many others welcomed us in ~ such a wonderful time! My garb at RFII the same, sans skirt and heels - add trewes and proper bucket boots.
  12. Hmmm, Silkie... perchance were you attending PiP 2006? Our paths probably crossed there ~
  13. OI! I'll have you know that he WAS NOT! ('Twas the other way around!) KIDDING! Just KIDDING!!
  14. Ah, charming (in a half-baked way) as always ~ and charm goes a long way!
  15. Well, while I am not pretty, in a rugged toothless sort o way (I still have my teeth... SNAP!) I still like the idea of the game ~ :) Well met, good friend!
  16. Well, now, William, be that VICARIOUS enough for ye? The missus was kind enough to share a spot of lip color for me in the lav, then up the stairs we come to find sneaky Pete! BTW - the fine gent standing in with us was NOT her Da', twas her BEAU. Her Da' beat a hasty exit when he saw what we were up to ~
  17. aHA! I thought that was you - but, as aforementioned, the sieve on my shoulders lets all names slip away from me ~ Thank you for your kind compliments!
  18. Tis true, so true - it's what's inside that hooks me. The devilish sparkle in his eyes, the hint of a dimple (then I know I am really in trouble)! and if he is dressed in lovely black pants and a burgundy dress shirt ~ well, unhhh... hmmm? Whassat? Oh, excuse me - train derailed, no survivors, sorry. Yes, it starts on the inside.
  19. Wrong forum, perhaps, but, too be fair, a response... ^ Yep, die-hard gamers both < Halo2 RULES! Loved Quake, DiabloII, Myst, but prefer the online experience and general bloodletting of Halo2 :)
  20. Awww, don't pick on Mike's knees! I thought they were cute and right at tickling height!
  21. The soft warm hum of the furnace drying every microt of humidity out of our house... And, downstairs, the reassuring BOOOOMmms of my hubby playing (and perhaps winning?) Lost Planet on the XBOX. Soft snoring from our beagle Diamond, while Stitch the cat contentedly closes her eyes (ah, safe - the d - o - g is asleep).
