I did indeed celebrate me Natal Day as if it were the Day before the End of the World!??!!?.....tho i cant seem to recall much of the next day...i dont believe I was one of the Raptured!?!?!?...nor it seems anyone i know...HA....so Drink up ya Heathens...we still might be in for a bumpy ride!!

  4. a very good example....thank you for sharing...also of note...not to just look into the end..!?!? but to actaually inpsect the tube well done, nice catch
  5. May the sea sail to you, May you sail a gentle sea, an may it always be the other guy who says..."the Drinks are on me!!"

  6. to all Fellow Pyrates, i toast to yur coffin, may it be made of 100 year old oak, an may we plant the oak seed together, tommorrow....Slainte!!

  7. the silk bags are quite simple really....and were even for the NON HAIRED INDOWED...as many would even be "stuffed" as it were to give the impression of more hair many of the ques wer actually long braids then doublled back...then tied with ribbon...again giving the impression of MORE hair...but since it was doubled back it would lend itself for better purchase for the ribbon than just the braid itself...have worn both kinds for sometime now and have had very little issure with them comming undone
  8. Welcome aboard matey!!.....Hats and Scrimshaw work ya say?? well pass round a few free samples o'yur work and ya sure ta meet some fast friends!! (psst...dont nobody tell him that he dont really have to give out free samples!!) ((i put the above in quotes so noone can see em...right??))

  10. sooooo....does anyone know how the meeting went??.....anyone (MICKEY) anyone? (Mickiy) anyone at all? (Psssttt Mickey)!!!!
  11. I don't think I have seen any period representations of guns strapped to someone's thigh. That is more of a mid-to-late 19th century thing. In the GAoP people tended to stick their pistols into their belt or to wear a baldric to hold them. I have seen one period woodcut of a pirate with several holsters fastened to a baldric. The alternative is to use belt hooks. the only evidence i have ever seen of anything strapped to the thigh was in the Golden Age of Movie Westerns...where some of the actors had tennis elbow and could pull the pistol from the waist tho tieing the peice to yur torso or even wrist seems to have been done for centurys (saves dropping them from the horse or even ship"...the Jacobytes wore a strap of leather round one shoulder and neck to carry their pistols, many pirates and sailors for boarding actions were thought to where ribbons round their neck....even carbines (while on horseback had a rope sling over a shoulder as to not drop it) so in short....i am thinking i agree with Cascabel about a sling to the side rather than anything tied to yur thigh unless yur doing Steampunk...then probably quite appropriate!?!
  12. that was done out in California by some group Billie bumped into....they would set the kiddies on it haulin up the sails...albeit they were only 3 feet off the ground....but witht the parents on their sides it looked like they were in the tops!
  13. i was just thinking about that row of tables behind us....that seemed the lions share of traffic flow...seems a lot were comming off the High speed ferry ....that as well as the corner side walk entrance to the park...last years set up left us a little ...undefind is all...considering mission and i pretty much took over Marks Fly...HAHA!! but i am also all about back drop with the trees as well....we might just want to consider opening up a bit do we know how much room yet? or just figuring on the same amount of space??
  14. thats another consideration...will the same space be allocated in the park? just utilising the same space...we might be able to set up a semi circle...back toward the street...with yur dry docked boat in the center agin...really liked that btw....to give folks more of a destination rather than a drive by from the street just thinking
  15. I will be in attendance...tis too dang close for me not to....if nothing more than to defend my title as the "Prettiest Pirate"...HAHAHA as for the rest of the Forsaken....there have been much interest as well...but will have to wait awhile before actual numbers of committment. some of us are have a more performance background...i am sure that "skits or scenes " can be added thru out the day as well as well as demos on Fashion of the time(why we are wearring what we are wearring?) etcetc.... and i can see a "Battle Scenario" with the use of the other group with the cannons....PIrates invade and the Town Miltita protected by the Canons etcetcetc...a way to swell the numbers and use the same space in the park allready designated as a firring zone will think more on it
  16. and when exactly have i been on time for anything!?!?! HAppy Birthday !!! hope the green Fairy smaked you right on the Arse!!!

  19. Fantastic sir...really like the shape of the antler..a thing of beuty to be sure
  20. i have ever only seen the small "mallet" style mentioned as beer bottles...tho even those seem to be on the scarce side...seems most would drink from the taverns kegs or take/make at home small kegs for the everyday meal drinking kind of beer. tho it would almost have to be a "round" bottle...being "windy" or under pressure...the round bottles were considered the stronger under pressure looking for this guys refference: http://www.bottlebooks.com/beertime/Understanding%20Beer%20Bottles.htm "In the 1700-1800s, “the terms 'Ale', 'Porter', 'Beer', 'Stout', or 'Lager' meant neither more nor less than 'Beer' fermented at varying temperatures, and clarified naturally by a shorter or longer after-fermentation." Because supply did not meet the American demand, these products were widely imported into the United States from Europe in both pottery and glass bottles. The earliest reference I could find was an 1764 ad which offered among other things, "bibles, Spelling books, primmers gloucester cheese and bottled beer."
