  1. Contra Dancing! "I'll swing you around till you're crazy, You've never known such a thing!" Just got home from a dance tonight!
  2. Irish Cream!
  3. Dance insomnia again this pre-dawn morning. Achy feet waking me up far too early! I hope my feet will have recovered by tomorrow night, because I plan to give them quite a workout at the Contra Dance!
  4. Post-daiquiri insomnia this morning. Those four classic daiquiris I had with dinner made a great nightcap, but the alcohol has long worn off and now here I am in the pre-dawn darkness wide awake with nothing to do and no one to talk to.
  5. Daiquiris & Japanese food Apparently not the direction signs in the subway The b-i-l Daithi (come dance with me!)
  6. Two hours of dancing tonight. And two hours last night. And I was particularly virtuous at the pub beforehand, ordering the grilled salmon with spinach salad, instead of the fish & chips. Hoping to fit into that bloody ballgown next week!
  7. Well, I'm suffering from Dance Insomnia tonight. Two hours of English Country Dancing this evening, now the blood's singing in my veins and I can't get my muscles to fall asleep.
  8. Totally brilliant, Patrick! And the upchucking over the side from too much rum & warm beer is priceless. Cheers, Hester
  9. Get away with ya, ya saucy lad! I'm old enough to be your mum!
  10. Oh no... now I'm craving Guinness (And an Irish dancer)
  11. Two Patties ... walk into a bar....
  12. Beef Satay Silver slippers that almost seduced me. Clerk in the dance supply shop. Daithi (sigh!)

^McShep slash (don't ask!) < Tad drunk V Do you dance? If so, what style(s)?
  14. Oh bugger! Gotta slim myself back into that lace ballgown in just over two weeks! Looks like I'll be back on the 3F weight-loss plan -- Fish, fruit, & feet (i.e. walking and dancing my ass off! Literally!) Cheers, Hester
  15. There is a dance hall in Maradyke, Where my love goes, most every night. He takes a strange girl upon his knee, And don't you know, now, it vexes me! And still she cried: "I love him the best! But a troubled mind, sure, can know no rest." And still she cried: "Bonny boys are few! And if my love leaves me, what will I do?" ~ Traditional Irish folk song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fP84z9nUcY
  16. Congrats on your review, Jenny! And Happy New Year all! I'm feeling ... well, slightly drunk actually. And a tad apprehensive ... I have to attend a family funeral tomorrow for an older relative, which will be sad. And bittersweet, to see many friends and family that I haven't seen in a long time. But looking forward to the New Year ... with lots of social activity. I'm going to be dancing my feet off in 2008! Scottish, English, Contra ... and now Irish! (What was I thinking when I signed on for this?) Got new dance shoes today, though! Anyhow, lots of swinging in those dances, so I'm bound to feel dizzy throughout 2008. But, in a good way. Cheers & g'night!
  17. I rather like Aedon's preceding post! But that might be because I'm slightly drunk on Kir Normand -- Cassis & Strongbow. Yum!

^My Thanksgiving was last month. (Canuck calendar.) But I'm going to the KT Tunstall concert on the date of U.S. Thanksgiving. And Contra dance that weekend. < Strained my ankle slightly last night at Scottish Country Dancing. So, I'm trying to stay off it and let it heal. I wonder if rum therapy would help? V Most of the trees still have their leaves here, and some of them are still green. I'd say they're nearly a month behind schedule. Does Autumn seem a bit tardy in your local area this year?
  20. Col. Sheppard (in the bedroom ... with a silk scarf)
  21. The Captain Jack Sparrow action figure says, "Pirate Barbie looks good to me!" Hester says, "Hmmm... 12 inches... now that's something to contemplate."

^No recurring dreams recently. But dancing has started to become a theme in my dreams. < Between the recent time change, and being socially active every night this week, I've developed some pre-dawn insomnia. V What autumnal activities have you been up to recently? [Global warming's certainly extended our summer here this year. Many trees still have their leaves, and some are even still green. Usually, the leaves have all fallen by now.] Has the time change finally got you into the autumn mood? [streetlights were on at 4:30 pm yesterday!]
