  1. I too, have mixed feelings about the movie. I felt that this movie somehow pulled together POTC 1 & 2 in a furry of ‘have to get this done’ fashion. Some characters were ‘skirted’ around when we really wanted to know more about them. While other charters left us asking more questions about their fate/past. I am still trying to understand why Regetti was chosen over everyone for one particular task. Over all, wanted more explanations and better character development.
  2. Scuttle Sally...this event is a 'rain or shine' event right? So no matter what the weather...it's still on? Cheeky
  3. Good Heavens! You'll have your hands full. I am sure that your house cat isn't too sure of what 'it' is that you let into her territory...but it should be interesting when they become use to each other. Are you just raising til it if able to keep out of harms way? What do you plan to do with it when it is too big for the livingroom?
  4. I am extremely excited about seeing it this weekend. The Crew of the Archangel cannot wait! We will be at a Marcus Theater in IL working the premier of the movie by entertaining the crowds and have tons of fun! From what I’ve heard and seen thus far…looks like a crazy ride! We are keeping our fingers crossed hoping that we see our Gunner in the movie….oh, that and of course Jack at his best!
  5. (Gives Hamish and Captain Sterling a sheepish grin...clears throat)... Quite Right, Danny! (Giggling like crazy)
  6. Oops! Sorry about that...I shall edit my edition.

  8. I was in Newport, RI back in 2005 during All Hallow's Eve and met up with the producer/coordinator of this event, Eleyne Austen Sharp. A very nice woman whom made our Pyrate Group feel right at home. We took the Pyrate Tour and had a great tour guide, (gosh...I wish I got his real name for he kept us laughing and entertained for the whole tour). At the end of the tour we ended up at the White Horse Tavern for lunch. You should have seen the face of the Tavern manager when we told him we were the 'official' tunnel inspectors and we were here to make sure that everything was being properly taken care of! For those who don't know, The White Horse is said to have 'several' tunnels under its' foundation where Tew and others used the network of tunnels under the streets of Newport to smuggle and hide their treasure.
  9. Thank you kindly, Captain Midnight! I hope to make another one soon!
  10. Thank you kindly Captain. You're package came early yesterday and I made use of it right away! The pink petticoat has been hemmed about 2-inches now. Nothing like sewing into the night as I watch Doctor Who! Great motivator in the wee hours of the morning. I shall make sure that Rats brings his camera to PW. Though, he does make a habit of keeping it in tow, sir. I would love to have some shots of Chole and I together, posed and action of course! Should be a nice addition to the collection of crew shots. "Note to self" Mistress Lilly scratches down with her quill pen. "Need to make one blue apron to wear for Callenish Gunner come PIP!" PS....My white apron has been offically seasoned thanks to my garden, and neighbor's dog!
  11. ...but if i met a fair woman such as y'self on my travels in port i'd give ye more than second look! callenish gunner! (Blushing). Yes, I agree with you and Chole that I need to 'season' my apron a bit...too clean for what it is attended for (work that is). And with such lovely compliments such as yours, I may have to change the color of my apron to blue!
  12. Well, I did have help...or should I say "Consulting" with this pattern, Silkie. A Big shout out to you Chole and Captain Sterling! There were a few things I had to change and fix. I also referred to Janet Arnold's book of this time period garment. Her research was most helpful when I needed to refer to 'more descriptive detail'. The Mantua is good, not great, but good for a first attempt.
  13. Morning Duchess, The only item that was made by using Kass' pattern was the Mantua. Everything else used another pattern or drafted free handedly.
  14. Hee...Hee...Hee.. Yes, my husband pointed out the length of my white petticoat this morning while taking pictures. It shouldn't take me long to make that type of adjustment. Hmm...need to plant some flowers on the north area of the house....that would do the trick!
  15. FINALLY! Here I am in my Street Hawker/Day Mantua for the Port Washington Pyrate Fest here in Wisconsin come June 1st. This habit can change to middling-sort class by loosing the white apron/hat and hood and replacing the hood with a fontage. Here I am in my stays and petticoats - need to hem the white one up a bit. Here is a back shot of the Mantua. Hawking my wears (bread and beer)
  16. ^ I have the ability to search and 'surf' the net when the 'boss-lady' ain't around. I can manage my accounts, shop, write letters, find information about Pyrates and historical clothing. The computer at work is 10x faster than the one I have at home. I am pretty much an independent worker, though I wish I had private cube like everyone else. Though, little does the 'boss-lady' know I keep tabs on her and her doings (letting out methodical laugh accompanied by intense suspicious music) - Okay people...that's part of my job, too...don't get any wrong ideas here! < Sorry to hear about your strep throat, Silkie. Hope that you're on the road to recovery. Don't you just love those 'horse pills' they give you? Or did they give you something else? V Again....passing along the question, "What can YOU get away with at work".
  17. Well hello Duchess - Please contact me via PM and I will give you a close and affordable hotel for that weekend. Cheeky
  18. ^ I've been told that where I live is the very tail end of Tornado Alley - but it's hard to say. We do have some pretty bad storms here in WI. Back in 1996, we had a class F5 here. Not a single person lost their life - A real blessing! < Sweetwater, OK?! That's where my husband has a branch office/plant ! V Need to watch the news on the weekends from now on!
  19. Mistress Lilly crawled into a shelter near the dockside for safe keeping. She couldn't believe that the Archangel had left port. It was her only hope for getting back to England. She couldn't remember seeing Captain Sterling return from his trip into town and board ship. It was shortly after Hamish left her on her own that she heard the shouts and the rabble of the crowds further down the street. Now, whispers float back and forth in the street that the murder has been caught. Was it true that Lewis Hutchinson had been taken by the red coats? She patted Mate upon the head and looked over a stack of crates. Hamish?! She called out thinking she saw him along with several of his crew, all looking worse for wear. "Hamish, what has happened?" "T'is awful Mistress. Our good Captain Sterling has been taken prisoner. Held under arrest. I fear the worse." Lilly stood there in shock. "I must see him!"
  20. ^ I have never been on the ride. I have made plans to do so very soon though. I shall liken it unto a pilgrimage to Mecca! Hmm...gotta to have the front seat first time in! < Ms. Cheeky Actress, so glad you are good sport! All in good fun. Always a good sport, Dearie! Isn't that right, Johnny? V Which is your favorite Disney character?
  21. I do believe Cheeky was referring to me, regarding the "Pet" question... I be the Captain with the one bad eye, and then again, hopefully she was referring to the sock monkey that looks like me! Ahoy Matusalem, The good Captain is correct. I was referring to him as a 'Pet'...and Captain Sterling, I completely forgot about the sock monkey in effigy! ^ Go food shopping! < Really need to sew this weekend! I hear you Chole! V More active in Summer or Winter?
  22. I am a Jackal! Pelloneus. I am responsible, fickle, flexible, and clever! It hit right on the head....So, I tried again and got... I am the Raccoon. Sergius. I am spontaneous, proud, modest, sociable, and competitive. Wow...two very different sides of me, eh?
  23. ?????? Captain, I think the question was Parrot, monkey, or not-dead anything? ^ B+ Type < Working through a sewing blunder....(I'm more black and white in interpretations/instructions than I thought)! V Energy burst! What do you do with it?
