  1. Captain Bo, Captain Sterling has requested that I send you his greatest thanks for your letter regarding the indentured white servants in the mail. Wonderful information! This morning, we did a small lecture on it for the whole 5th grade classes here in VA. They were very well behaved and showed great interest, which can be very hard for a 5th grader! We cannot thank you enough for you help in the matter.

  3. Exciting news! Reenactor Fest 4 will be the first year we have a celebrity or two in attendance! Things are looking very positive that we'll have British star Jason Salkey from the mega-popular Sharpe's series (starring Sean Bean from Lord of the Rings and Goldeneye among others). Mr. Salkey was a key member of the cast, playing Rifleman Harris in every single episode. It's more of a long-shot, but we are also trying to get Bernard Cornwell, the author of the Sharpe's series of books as well as MANY other historical works. Keep your fingers crossed on that one! In any case, RF4 is going to be the biggest and best one yet!
  4. LOL Hmm...if you find one such as that...ask if he has a brother, will ya?!
  5. Lilly whips head about... YES! That's what I'd Like!
  6. ^ Well, growing up on an air base, we never were without power. The whole compound (for lack of a better word) was self-contained/self sufficient. We had our own power source (a throw back to the Cold War)...therefore, we were never without power. However, once my dad retired...wow, what a difference! < Built our home out in "God's Country" seven years ago. My husband was a very smart man when building the home. We have a wood burning fireplace and down in the basement, he has an area in the main electrical box that can service a gas generator…just in case. We have never had to use it, but you never know. We have had our narrow escapes with Tornados! V Pass the question
  7. 'Bastian, Creole sits like that?! I hope to God she's fixed!!
  8. Capt. Bo! (Ya...too weird! Shakes off the chill) The Captain and I must thank you for your help in this matter! Great information and very helpful. We are on our way to Williamsburg and hope to dig up additional information regarding roughly 1680s to 1728 or so. I have been most successful with my own family line (MacKinnon/McKinney), thanks to my Cousin Kevin and Uncle Ted. If we find anything while we are out and about in Williamsburg...we shall post it here!
  9. Drinking some....Lemon flavored beer.... Damn, not half bad!
  10. Yes...I SEE Captain. Still typing a food list, folding laundry - and now thinking about bringing some meds for the Captain....unless we can get Kirk to bleed him at Lockhouse?!
  11. What fearful shapes and shadows beset his path, amidst the dim and ghastly glare of a snowy night! With what wistful look did he eye every trembling ray of light streaming across the waste fields from some distant window! How often was he appalled by some shrub covered with snow, which, like a sheeted specter, beset his very path! How often did he shrink with curdling awe at the sound of his own steps on the frosty crust beneath his feet; and dread to look over his shoulder, lest he should behold some uncouth being tramping close behind him! And how often was he thrown into complete dismay by some rushing blast, howling among the trees, in the idea that it was the Galloping Hessian on one of his nightly scouring! - - - Washington Irving (a quote from "The Legend of Sleep Hollow")

  16. 1930s radio drama theme music begins to play in the background "Last we left our damsel in distress, Mistress Lilly McKinney found herself out on the street in that cold, cruel world of Port Royal, Jamaica. Who will save her…who will come to her need….” Yup...I'd say that desperate would be right! Okay...Blonde, breathing and doesn't paw me...'kay?
