  1. I listened to it live on Radio Margaritaville. Excellent show. Love all the old stuff getting mixed in. I may see Jimmy in Chicago also as my bil works security for alot of the area concerts. And of course half the reason we go is for the tailgating.
  2. Just curious. I"m a major Jimmy Buffett fan. Contemplating trying to buy some overpriced tix right now. A Pirate Looks At Forty By: Jimmy Buffett 1974 Mother, mother ocean, I have heard you call Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall You've seen it all, you've seen it all Watched the men who rode you switch from sails to steam And in your belly you hold the treasures few have ever seen Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream Yes I am a pirate, two hundred years too late The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder I'm an over-forty victim of fate Arriving too late, arriving too late I've done a bit of smugglin', I've run my share of grass I made enough money to buy Miami, but I pissed it away so fast Never meant to last, never meant to last And I have been drunk now for over two weeks I passed out and I rallied and I sprung a few leaks But I got stop wishin', got to go fishin' Down to rock bottom again Just a few friends, just a few friends (instrumental) I go for younger women, lived with several awhile Though I ran 'em away, they'd come back one day Still could manage to smile Just takes a while, just takes a while Mother, mother ocean, after all the years I've found My occupational hazard being my occupation's just not around I feel like I've drowned, gonna head uptown Coda: I feel like I've drowned, gonna head uptown
  3. Well there've been a number of views but nobody can help. I'm sorry if I was being presumptious by posting this here when I haven't been on the boards for a few months. I was hoping one of ye worked at the new museum in Key West or in some way had some knowledge. I have attempted to use their e-mail on the web site but it didn't go thru. Hopefully if this sits for a bit while it works its way down the boards somebody might have me answer. Again thank you for your time. Tina
  4. Aye you have. You were around when I was last on here for sure.
  5. I haven't posted for awhile. I see some familiar faces and some new ones. An interesting change is all the threads dedicated to writing in some way or another. As a writer that's pretty cool. Alot more posts on reenactment too. Well hello all.
  6. How does it work? does one book downloaded use up a large amount of hard drive space. I would like to look at this some more but don't want to tie up tons of room on the pc. It appears that you can't download a chapter at a time, read, delete and get the next chapter.
  7. A fellow parrothead here. Not be going to Tamp but I'm holding my breath for tix sales here in NJ. Camden tix are extremely difficult to come by. We will have somebody online somebody on the phone and someone in line at ticketmaster. Hopefully we'll get at least a pair.
  8. It's been quite some time but I used to be a regular here. I'm from Southern New Jersey. Several members were helping me in my attempt to bring a pirate fest to my neck of the woods. Mr. Pat Croce, owner of Pirate Soul in Key West and major pirate buff has a local connection in my town. He is opening a second Pirate Soul store here. I would like to get an email to him or the appropriate person in his organization describing the festival and asking for assistance in getting our town to allow this fest to take place. No financial assistance, strictly some help in brainstorming. I could approach him when i see him in town taking exercise but that seems innappropriate. I would just like an address or email that I would know would reach the right person. Thank you if you can be of help. By the by, now that I have a new pc I'll be popping in periodically. I see some familiar names and many new ones. Greetings from the salty sea in New Jersey. PS- if you feel uncomfortable giving me the address I could give you my email or phone number to pass on to the right person. Then the ball would be in their court to contact me. I'm trying to be a big aggressive tracking down this info, but also don't want to be rude or assume a very busy person would be willing to speak with me.
  9. Thanks so much. It is looking like a snowday tomorrow here so I should be able to track down an image tomorrow. You pirates are the nicest folks.
  10. Can anybody tell me how to take an image and make it into an avatar. If I find something in the public domain how do I make it into an avatar. If I need to put the image somewhere, how do I do this for free? If I need to shrink the image how do I do this? Thanks guys.
  11. Gasparilla was 26 I believe. Unlucky Kidd was born in Scotland. I'll give half the answer to the other question and phrase the rest. He buried treasure from a ship that he captured. Name the ship and what happened to the treasure. Hint, this would be a reason he was called unlucky.
  12. with school closed, and more snow and ice coming for the next 2 days I've got some time on my hands. So in between painting the family room I'll be here. Post a pirate question, any kind, factual, pop, fiction, etc. The next person answers and posts a new question. Here goes Where was Blackbeard the pirate born?
  13. Has anybody ever stayed at Abaco Island, Bahamas. I am thinking of taking a trip here and have some questions.
