Can this book be found still in print? I had not heard of it before
I'm currently reading " A General Historie of the Robberies and Murders of the Most Notorious Pyrates" by Capt. Charles Johnson a reprint of the 1725 edition so far it's an excellent read and should be a MUST READ for the piratical living historian

I am of the opinion that most pirates wore whatever they could find be it wool , leather or broadcloth and brocadeProtection from the elements would be a first concern , however in port he would wear his best to show his wealth and sucuess

I can easely make a baldric for you , the hard part is finding the correct buckle . the ones I've used are brass and about 4" in diameter.
as to the earring question : we are pirates so who cares what anyone thinks!!!!!!!!!!

I think I would be just as happy with a pair of Queen anns they can be had at a reasonable price from Dixie Gun Works I think about 200 coins for the kit a kit is the way to go for the learning blackpowder gunsmith
