Now all the detail work is done. All I have to do is get it sewn for eyelets. Although this flag is most "untraditional," it has as much menacing symbolism as any other...

Aye Rumba ye was the first person we looked for... Ok though.. were sorry thet happened to ye.. On the brighter side the weather was nice and I finaly got to meet the NQG crew.. I got to renew my subsription.. and gained a few more contacts. Mary asked whare the tall ships were.. that was funny.. I had expectations too , it being my first time.. and the impression I got from the Web site I thought thar would be ships larger than the Californian.. Well non-the less We had a good time...... The food at the Brig Resturaunt was yummy and reasonable.

I tried to use an airbrush so the borders would not bleed but the air brush refused to cooperate. Finaly I gave up and went to a paint brush. eye will add detail by hand later. I found some one who has a heavy duty sewing machine to hem it for me.

Eye shall be present wit Stranglehold at this event.... Sept. is making for a busy month!

What is "Piping the Side" Mean?

I had been lookin for links for audio for Bosun call and found this. Boatswain calls on audio Eye have been practicing with mine. However I wonder if one was even used during the period GAOP on Pirate Vessles. Which also begs another question.. Though alot of Pirates were X-English/French navies just how close to "Tradition" was adhered to concerning nauticle practices...Such as BostSwains calls? Boatswain's Calls of the US Navy... What is "Piping the Side" Mean? All Hands ,Belay,Heave Around,Mess Call,Pass the Word,Piping the Side, Secure General Quarters ,and Sweepers .

Today was the big day to dye the Canvass Cloth. First I utilized Soda ash to afix the Rit dye so it will not fade as quickly in sunlight or through washings. Using a roller I worked the cloth over three times a side. I was going to use a tie dye method of splotches because the backgroung for the sea devil is water but I needed to hang it to dry and did not want any dripping so i used a squeeggie and achieved a fairly uniformed color. I think I might add Splotches Later, I'll sleep on.

Thanks but Eye had already made my own outta aluminum on a CNC machine. Now Had this Young Jim Ladd showed up a year ago...Ya , Eye indeed would be in the market for Island Cutters expert workmanship.

One aspect of the Dead Mans Cove area that I have kept under wraps is the fact that it is not entirely enclosed . So for a kewl Remedy Eye am now in the design stages of my flag that will provide privacy and add to the over-all piratey feeling for the area. The canvass is 10ft x 6ft . Eye am going to hemm the outter edges doubled for the eyelets and Dye it entirely blue for the background. I will use acrylic paints for the Sea devil. Eye have my fingers crossed on this one...I have never done anything this big...but ohhh it is a fun endeavor.
