First off, Me wishes all a grand New Year ahead of plundering and eye raise me tankard to the health of all whom frequent this eeerr pub! OMG! THIS HAS BEEN A VERY BUSY YEAR! I think I ended up whare Eye started..eagh eagh..some 14 events. PirateCon and Norcal bein the best of tymes...Eye Met lots of people.. Ransom and Chain Shot, Poison Quill, Patrick Hand, and Dman to name a few...All of the TO7S crew... Pirates Charles and MadL too. Micheal and Christine Lampe visited the cove this year too...That was exciting for me... The Cove keeps changing as more booty was added this year. This was the year of me acquiring new togs and joining a reenacting group called Alliance of the Double Cross headed by our dear Grey Dog. I got me first Flintlock Pistol and have learned to shoot black powder. Another group started by Tiger Lee, the Scurvy Dogs weapons and sword fighting group has come into my leadership and we meet every Tues night..We aim to put on a play in Oceanside this year coming.. So aye.. If anyone can say it's been a pirates life for me, the boot fits eerrr! 2008 has been a well lived life as a Pirate. YArrrrr! And Look at us! we survived the Pub take-over and its problems! Well met Stynky! The year ahead looks to be unpredictable job wise/financially for me as me compass keeps spinning.. Eye can only hope fer the best!

I was Curious as to what the name of the ship William Dampier was aboard when Selkirk was Marooned. I had a book about William Dampier and his travel but can't locate it right now..

I was fascinated by the fact that Woodes Rodgers was the one who saved Selkirk with William Dampier as the navigator of his ship... Small world eagh? He was Wise to be marooned willingly.. What I found funny is the number of Survivors from the Cinque Ports The article link says seven and the captain whereas " the Complete Idiots Guide to Pirates Says 70 survivors...both agree on the account of the Peruvian prison as their demise.. I think 7 survivors is the correct account...

I finally got my copy of the movie Pirates of the Great Salt lake and saw my Pirate Moniker roll on by at the end for those who supported the movie.. I be curious Whom here has there name in the credits... Go ahead Leave ye mark!

The Scurvy Dogs sword fighting group..a sub Group of Stranglehold uses the basic eight moves and combination thereof. We have developed a few 'Theatrical moves' as well..Each combination of moves is called out to the other in code through the use of pirate curses so the opponent can anticipate what is coming next.. For saftey reasons we opted out of using live steal and use an aluminum cutlass from Noble Armory. New comers are handed a wooden 'King Author' sword till they buy their own sword.. We are working on putting on our very first skit this Sept.. Here is a video of our main routine... Eye am not aware of an existing system we could all share and use. If there was ..i would still be more inclined to sword fight with whom I practice with...

I've got me a collection and am still adding to it... Next year Eye am gonna set up a full size Christmas Pirate tree complete with Skulls and Light houses and best of all Jack Sparrow hanging( like from a gallows) from the branches ! eagh eagh.. I guess i lost my grinchyness.. LOL A star fish for the star to top it off.. Hey just think ..maybe we could have a contest next year of the best Pirate tree.. well just a thought.
