I worked on the project more today..Funny how when I set out to do somethings, they take on a life of there own out of nessesity of design.. This Disney image will be fiberglassed to the table ..Forget shallac! The table top is black using Milk paint ..an experiment in itself having never used the stuff before. It will make a good back drop for the picture.The edge of the frame has been routered for asthetics. All the dang holes have been predrilled and countersunk for oak buttons.. The buttons will be painted black with the outside frame a deep dark red to match the pic and kind bounce the same color off my flag nearby for contrast.

I have been lookin around to maybe get a steam punk outfit for that event.. Been googleing the hell out of the net in my futile search though.. We / Stranglehold will be on the Queen Mary since Oceanside is not officially having pirates at the Harbors days event...

A new project has gotten underway here at the cove... Eye decided I wanted a new table with an image embedded onto it..I thought to Rout out for the whole frame and all but decided to keep it simple and remove the tavern image from the frame and shallac it in place along with the whole table.. The table will be supported by two barrels of which have been cut as you can see.. Still considering what kind of finish I want..the finish will need to match the barrel chairs which have been added to in number and re-uphostered from the previous Harloquin to plain black.

That is one rustic lookin sea chest.. The Insign on the top of the box...That is all chiseled out..Man you put some hours into that! Beautiful ! And Who would of thought to use it as music box on top of that? Very creative & cool Sea chest! Mine will be a traditional sea chest . AIthough it will definatley be personalized.. I will have Grey Milk paint with a wash finish and a deep barn red for the trim...

Does anyone know resources that would describe the process of distribution of powder from the magazine to the Ships guns..???GAOP of course..

eye realize this thread is about how weapons were carried..However I would like to see some feed back on the following. Eye have spin on this that just might raise a brow..That is that Most "Pirates did not even own a gun. On the Wydah..Only the Sun King was recovered to my knowlege.. I watch the same shows every one else does and I do not recall "Lots Of Guns ever Being recovered" from any of the wrecks. If many of a pirate crewmember were force to join or die..why would you turn around and hand them a gun? This is just some foder for debate.. I do know that Guns were present on ships used in acts of Piracy GAOP but really..I think more trusted in thar cutlass.. Grenados, and intimadation. The picture/Image of every Pirate owning a pistol/Blunderbuss is fantisy in my opinion....

Eye just got me some custom made clay pipes withthe VOC emblem on them today.. Heather Coleman from Devon England makes them.. She might have a few left...

It really only takes about an hour to get all the basics in place because we use assigned teams , one team for the tower and fence,one team for the canvased sitting areas, and one team for the kitchen... It only took us 45 minutes to tear down and load in the Uhaul.
