Just got back from Norcal. NorCal was a blast ....I got my self and my crew gate Listed with Tales of the Seven Seas..I am very grateful to Red Handed Jill (Thanx fer the Pic BTW) and Poison Quill for the trouble on such a short notice. It was the only way to be able to fire weapons.. It definatley was the whos who of the pirate community for the west coast.. They had 15 cannon most were 3lbs along the Quay and a small area for small arms to be fired at the passing sailing ship the Aldebaran. I shot me Blunderbuss about 4 times at the 11:00 practice and 6 times at the 2:00 show flawlessly on Saturday.. along side Dman of the TO7S. Only one miss fire due to fouling on the underside of the flint which was taken care of quickly without any major lapse of time.. I was kind of put off by the lack of participation in small arms fire..There was only a small number of us..I originally thought there might have been a line to get on the firing line but that was not the case. The Festival attendance was very crowded Saturday and Sunday still had alot of attendees. I would say 15,000-20,000 this year at the most. Capt. Syn of Stranglehold And Eye were stopped for pictures at least 50 times each day... ~ The Pirates from Pirates Magazine the likes of Talderoy and Scarlett Harlott and her aunterouge were on hand lurkin around. Once again I met up with a couple of other mates Crazy Boots Martin and MadL.. MadL..ye should post some pics in the garb thread! He looked very sharp! Of course i need mention CannonCali too whom gifted me a hand made ship..its auwsome! The Stage acts were very good... We Watched Jack Sparribbs , Formerly Known As (Ace Of harbor), And the Sea Dogs, and Pirates Charles.. and Eye Got on Stage to lend Mr. Mac a hand on the kids stage and sang along with him with a few other of my crew too. Shortly after i finally got to meet Red handed Jill..been two years I think.. The after Party at City Lights Cantina was fun..most of the people who showed up were pretty much burnt out from the days activities so the energy was a little on the tame side while BilgeMonkey spun piratey tunes on the stage..When He played "I'm A Scalawag" By Capt. Bogg & Salty I could not keep my feet still and wound up entertaining the whole room with my piratical dance which will more than likely find its way to YouTube. Half the room got a good laugh on my account...more over I enjoyed the spot light for the moment. Sunday we Got there in the early after noon in time to film the Boom Pirates do their act..i really liked it. The video will be on YouTube later this week with their permission ... Ransom ..The Most giddy Pirate Iv'e to meet..at least when it came to Pirates Charles..hey they luv ye Ransom! Before coming home we raided the Belly Jelly bean factory in Fairfield and took the tour. We as a matter of couse plundered the jelly beans.. Eye am now addicted to chocolate jelly beans.. Next Year, Eye suggest ye look up Capt. Blythers in Benicia to eat.. A very cool place and great food in a small town on the Bay.. The clam chowder was the best I have ever had...

Eye dirty myself with make up and my clothing to look like i have been working on a ship and not just making a trip to the galley... I even use Tar Smell from American Tar and rope Co. It has a nice dank piney smell Like ye been handling the Tarred ropes for a bit or six months dependin.. My Hollywood authentic as a deck hand/ look out has been on a burning ship that was boarded and pillage afore she sank..I have a fresh scar with blood under me right eye.. I have been in a good fight very recently.. And ye know..In my opinion I look rightly Identifiable to the public so it all werks for me.. As for me Authentic look..I ian't quite as dirty as me rank and position is higher on the food chain on the ship as a second mate and will never portray myself as a Captain! Devil Be Damned! Thar too many of those and not many to sail the ship in my opinion..Aye my shirt is still dirty. Me shoe buckles are historically accurate and not all buckles are huge like what I see most reenactors ware . the tounges on me shoes are a little short because I ate them when stores ran out once...( At Least till I gett A better pair) LoL ~ I still use make-up to look as though I have a leathery skin on me face and ears and hands..A lot of Sun on a sailing vessel you will get and wind takes its toll as well... Eye say every man /Woman to thar Hobby as they see fit and as That is the same that gives me the freedom..Ya I said it ! Freedom to represent My idea of GAOP Pirates using common sence and historical references. I respect the opinions and ideas i read here on this forum and some even have inspired me like Patrick Hand to work at becoming more authentic.. Most of all I have to mucjh fun doing this stuff and meeting poeple who share in this hobby. Ahh the sweet life..

Eye have a water hose..eagh eagh...sorry.. however thar be Rum to warm ye bones ~ Now all Eye need is some good pirates to accompany muah.. When the table is done..the Treasure chest will be tackled next.. My Electrician Guy is gonna put all the tavern lighting on faders for me to control the mood/effect..not that any one would notice after a few shots of wot ever.

Well because of another project requiring a large amount of table space i went on ahead and moved it all into the cove area..I have decided against using the disney image. Instead i am getting the large gold Escudos/Dablooms and will embed them every third 2x6.. Then I will glass over the whole table and call this project complete..Simplicity has me eye on this.. I already have enough symbols of Pyracy Aka Skulls and such.. Eye moved my big lamp to the center of the table... I have an Electrician hooking me up with faders for all the main night lighting.. When that is done then I will be posting a few night shots of the place..Maybe some Goslings on the table too.... ~ Eye Can't wait to share this space on Aug 22nd with other Pirates!

Work is progressing toward getting the Art work portion of the table started. the table top is now is all assymbled and painted.. (Some touch is still needed) I still have to experiment with resin and an image on a separate piece to make sure wot I am doing will work..

Matt knows all about it..They are werkin on fixing it.. Eye ran onto the same thing and asked him about it..

Picturial update..Yes i am still working on it.. this project is still two weeks out from being finished.. The frame has its first coat of paint after being primed with a stain blocker.. The paint dries to a deeper darker color. It is wet seen here.

My Crew and Eye have been looking forward to this event for the last three months..It was auwsome last year between the TO7S and the Pirates of Emerson..no one can top it! So this year rather than being solo..i am Bringing 6 other crew members from the Stranglehold on Saturday.. to add to the mayhem! Yarrrr!
