  3. With the exception of a shoulder strap this Tesla pulse disruptor is complete.. It has a working coil red light using El Wire as Pat had mentioned it and Eye thought it a cool idea to incorporate into this project. Another red light in the muzzle also illuminates when the trigger is pulled.
  4. The 'Milk' part of the paint is powdered milk.. it is the binder used to help adhere the pigment.

  9. Tavish thank you for the tips and interest ~ The finish on the table is to my liking now.. As an after thought ..I did think the same as you mentioned when it comes to applying resin. I forgot about that technique at the time.. The table finish is not perfect but then again it is rustic because it is Not perfect and Piratey to boot.. So I more than met my objective with this piece. Many a compliment were given to me about the table at the party.. so it was a hit and a major improvement over the round barrel table..Which Eye still have as an extra table for events ect.

  13. Eye thought to add how they all got to the Caribbean. Thanx for posting the info and putting a face to some of the groups whom may well became involved in Piracy.. So Here is how they got to their destination ~ Transportation "Large scale use of transportation as a criminal punishment began about 1663. It was imposed both on defendants convicted of capital non-clergyable felonies and pardoned on condition of transportation and on some defendants convicted of clergyable felonies. A judge who wished to transport such a felon could choose to test the literacy requirement strictly and find that the defendant was not literate and thus not entitled to benefit of clergy or, if the defendant was already branded for a previous offense, the judge could enforce the rule forbidding non-clerics to plead clergy more than once. Transportation was by private merchants. A merchant who wished to transport a felon was required to pay the sheriff "a price per head that included jail fees, the fees of the clerk of the appropriate court, fees for drawing up the pardon, and so on" (Beattie p. 479). After transporting the felon to the New World, the merchant could sell him into indentured servitude for a term depending on his offense. This was a profitable transaction if the felon was young and healthy or had useful skills. But many felons did not bring enough return to pay the merchant's cost. The result was that felons who had been sentenced to transportation but whom nobody was willing to transport accumulated in jails intended as temporary holding places. Another problem was with the colonies to which the felons were sent; in the 1670's both Virginia and Maryland passed laws prohibiting transportation. Beattie concludes that "transportation to the mainland colonies was being seriously curtailed by the 1670's."[17] While some transportation continued, it seems to have become an uncommon punishment by the end of the seventeenth century. The second period of transportation began in 1718. This time the government made no attempt to charge merchants for the privilege of transporting convicted felons. Instead, the merchants were offered a subsidy of 3[[sterling]] per transportee. On those terms transportation was profitable. The system was continued until the American Revolution removed most of the places to which transportees were being sent from the authority of the crown.[18]"

  17. This is a 1750's British Officers coat. All that needs to be added is gold trim around the collar. It is sewn by a novice friend of mine..For her first attempt and for the purpose Eye commissioned it to be made was for other reasons than just "reenacting".. It is first and foremost a fantasy outfit to match my mural in Dead Mans Cove of which Eye have uncannily achieved. The reference material for the pirate in the mural is simply an artist rendition from the book called Piratology. Eye look like the painting. Eye wore it for the first tyme on my 10th anniversary when we threw a party this last weekend in the cove. Eye will post some side by side comparison pictures. Eye do agree that more "bling" can be added when Eye find more information on details. This was before the slops contract was made where no two ships uniforms were alike anyways with this kit. There were over 120 different military units in the 1750’s-1760’s. The other reason for this jacket is for ren fair where Eye and a friend can have some fun arresting pirates. Ultimately, This is all about having some fun... If my job was being a living history person being paid to represent a period of history down to the last thread then well ok..Ya gotta eat so you research something for ten years before a sewing needle can be picked up and threaded. Mean while because that ain't the case...I am taking my time being creative along the way as Eye become more historicly interested in being correct..Though for this item of garb, Eye think this coat is very close to being accurately period to the early 1750's.
  18. We had the party as planned on the 22nd..It was a hoot fer all who attended; including our very own Rumba Rue and Boats. Pictures taken were limited because Eye was too busy running the Who dunn it pirate murder mystery game.
  19. LadyBarbossa... Azeroth Prime is the name of the Movie. Here is the link for the promotional web site if you are curious.. http://www.starchasermovie.com/azeroth_prime.htm Now as to twisted..Eye did fer fun..make myself look like my mural in the cove. I will post a side by side comparison pic in the next few days. My mural is now a hysterical reference..LoL..No I did not mean historical..Though the pattern of the coat is 1750's.
  20. Eye have been waiting for months for this coat. we finally got it completed.. Note the mariners cuffs.
