Stan Rogers is a great Canadian Maritime singer. His songs are almost exclusively about the sea and include traditional stuff as well.

He also wrote the famous pirate related song, Barrett's privateers.

Although Stan died in 1990, he's still worth giving a listen to.

The end of Irish independance, well until 1916, that is.
