Personal Image Gallery & How to Post Pictures
Stynky Tudor replied to Stynky Tudor's topic in Pub Status
Actually, unless something got reset during the last upgrade - I removed those limits a while ago. -
Ahoy there Captain! Sorry for the tardy reply, but I killed off the "Friend's List". It just seemed redundant, anti-social and ridiculous for the small group that we are, to visit the Pub in search of community and then put energy into who we're going to be friends with and not be friends with. By the nature of our shared interests we are already all friends here. . . . that is unless you're one of the King's spies. Now that might make an interesting role play element, people could set up obvious factions, build lists of enemies. Though a lot of role play goes on between us, I think the Pub is more than that (not that I could define it necessarily).

Other than posting code supplied to me by my creditors, I don't have any control or access over that AdSense account. But you're right - we do need to add a rotating ad banner space on the pub - that's not google. I actually have something slated to show up on the right-hand side panel and have already written the random image generator in javascript - I just need to (integrate everything) test and make a box for it all to live in. I'm in the middle of a bunch a stuff right now, plus PiP is in a few days. And now that most of the bugs have been squashed in this latest version of messageboard software - I'm hoping to start showing non-google ads that will support the Pub directly, early next year.

Hehe... The life of a professional writer - always editing and rewriting. Can't help myself. So I will just re-edit then with a -deleted- mark and leave it at that. No biggie. -- Hurricane Obviously Silkie hasn't a problem saying what's on her mind - LOL! When I took over the Pub, I noticed a lot of the Pub's History - our older Pub conversations had come up missing, so I limited message editing and deleting to the Admin staff. The Mods are able edit topic titles, move stuff around and make stuff disappear (not quite the same as delete but they can make things go away). Now between the last software upgrade and giving Mission access to the rum barrel, a lot of controls seem have gotten reset or changed - I need to go back and revisit some of those control settings.

Ahoy Badger, I'm not sure what the problem is or would be. . . What browser are you using? Have you ever cleared out your browser's cache or deleted cookies?
-
Where exactly?
-
My God Man, What kind of entertainment value would that serve the rest of us?
-
Are you still having a problem or has it settled down? Has anyone else had this problem?

Civil War Buff Fires Cannon, Hits Neighbor's House
Stynky Tudor replied to RIPP Tar's topic in Armory
I think we missed his point and made the conversation about, "whether or not he saw someone drinking on the battlefield", when we should have been talking about what to do in such situations - like what safeguards are in place/are going to be in place. There's no need to imply someone (new) is a liar. -
Haha - Good for you! For some reason that makes me laugh, feel smug & superior - I know that's bad & I shouldn't.

I do have to say it's a sweet, solid piece that fires reliably. . . .that is unless I've fouled the flint up by firing so much or, um, more likely from over filling the pan. Though the weather and humidity do play their part of course. At a time-line event in (very dry) California, I went through almost two pounds of powder in a single day, with only a small number of misfires. Some were due to fouling, some due to wearing out the flint. I think the cap an ball guys were a tad jealous, their guns weren't as reliable. But for all the work, reworking, man hours I've put in, what I've paid for Cascabels time, efforts, counsel and custom part fabrication - not that I even want to ever add up the dollar amounts, I could have easily made a new piece (or two) from scratch. On the plus side though (of f***ing up parts and breaking main springs), I learned a hell of a lot (of what not to do) and the money spent on that education was deferred over time (the last several years).

Originally purchased as a 30 year old used piece from Hugh - Callenish Gunner of Vagabond Armory. It was in fairly good condition, had seen its share of firing and was semi-reliable. I sent it to Cascabel to give it the once over twice. He replaced the cock to make it look like an earlier piece, re-hardened the frizzen and forged/fabricated some new custom parts - various screws, springs, a belt clip and an internal bridle. To continue making it appear as an earlier period weapon, Dave Morgan helped me with shaving down the stock. We lost the ramrod pipes, patched some original machine voids and made a wooden ramrod to replace the original metal one. Then this last year - Cascabel and I went for a complete tweak and rebuild. We replaced the stock entirely, new shape - solid walnut. We modified the gun barrel to match the new shape of the stock. The lock plate was beveled and was made to sit proud (slightly sticking out) on the stock. . . Except for the butt cap and the back plate, I don't think there's a stock piece on it now - or a piece that hasn't been modified.

Yet another variation. . .<br /><br />In an attempt to make the pistol look like an earlier piece. We reworked the gun stock, shaving wood from the handle and the stock around the barrel. We also made a self-locking ramrod out of wood.<br /><br />At this point everything has been touched in some way and is completely a custom piece.© © Pyracy.com 2002 - 2009

Though the Pub does use Javascript, it doesn't use any Java Applets or have anything written in Java. Javascript being a runtime scripting language like HTML that needs a web browser to read, interrupt and execute v.s. Java being a compilable programing language that can be executed on it's own. . . Anyway I'm not sure what the point I'm making is, except none of this should really matter.

Happy Beerthday Paisley!

That's an idea. To make the page Smaller, hold down the Ctrl key and tap the - minus key a couple times, that should shrink everything. See if your pop-up box/bar still shows up to the extreme left, where you can't reach it. To make things Bigger, hold down the Ctrl key and hit the + plus key a few times. To Reset everything, hold down the Ctrl key and hit 0 zero. This really isn't a Pub side fix, but without an actual visual or anyone else complaining - I'm at a loss to what it is or what to do.
-
Ahoy there Everybody, Just a heads up - now that our major software upgrades have settled down somewhat, Google Ads will be appearing at the top of the Pub again. Cheers, - Stynk

I believe this one is crossed off the list too.
-
Then I'll unpin it and cross it off the list - thanks!

Cheeky Darling, I can't figure out what this problem is or looks like. . . I thought I understood by your description, then I tried to duplicate it and I can't - I'm not sure whats wrong exactly to fix. Cheek, have you tried the regular editor vs the rte - rich text editor setting? Is anyone else having this problem?
-
AH-ha, she is fixed I tell you! (please tell me it's fixed)
