  1. Has anyone told Captain Black that we meet here? I know I contacted Cap'n Michael and Jules Evermore. . . for some reason I thought Captain Black was already here.

  3. Now if I understand this correctly, and I'm not saying that I do after the amount of beers I've consumed. But I believe each one of us/each individual, as an Order of Leviathan member gets to nominate somebody. Then that gaggle of nominees, along with whatever number is left to be picked as runners up - gets voted on by the public. So instead of Pirates Magazine picking/coming up with all the nominees themselves - we each get a say - equal in the number of us. . . at least as far as the nominees are concerned. Then the top 12 of those will be picked by the public. Then that top 12 will pick a 13th. . . but this time no dice rolling maybe. Is there some other wording I could have used to make this more confusing than I feel now that I've typed it out loud.
  4. Jeff, please don't put words in my mouth, I didn't say being Honorable was wimpy. What I said was, the word "feels like a wimpy add-on". It felt like we were apologizing for something we're not even associated with. And you didn't need to delete the page, you could have just renamed it.
  5. Odd - I suddenly feel cut off at the knees and have nothing to say to that.
  6. beerp What if yar already on the floor. . . face down.
  7. Pa-Twang, you're in. . . all you had to do is ask. Though I don't usually do this for just anybody.
  8. I hear that! I give people (that aren't on California time) the time to campaign. . .
  9. Jeff, I appreciate you trying to be proactive, but please get rid of the word Honorable. Having an Order of Leviathan fan page that is obviously ours is a great idea. But getting rid of the word Honorable will do a better job of what you’re trying to accomplish in the search engines. In fact, if the Order of Set or whatever re-activated themselves and updated their page while we're using the word Honorable – they would leap-frog ahead of us to the top of the search engines. I have written search engines before and I know how they work. So by adding the word Honorable to our name – you’re actually doing us a disservice, setting back the importance of our name as well as crippling any legal "fair use" rights to it we have. I've worked for Lawyers too. Sorry, but the word Honorable just doesn’t belong and feels like a wimpy add-on. Stop being afraid of our name. The longer we use it (without the word Honorable attached) - the bigger the association will be to us. Our statistics will grow, our standing will climb, dwarfing whatever they have. Trust me they will disappear, be forgotten and buried.

  11. Seriously, like I should talk. I'm how old, living in Cascabel's basement (moved out of my Mom's) and still playing Pyrate dress-up. . .
  12. Hold on a second MacKay, why are you adding Satan to the end here? I don't see it in the original text. For all I know, agents of the Black Flame (damn, another cool name), could mean anything from Ozzy Osbourne to some boss level video game character in World of WarCraft - it doesn't say Satan. Now just because a group of adolescents, bored with playing Dungeons and Dragons, got together in 1982 to create a web page that hasn't gotten any attention until we stumbled upon it, doesn't mean we shouldn't use the name. And why are you only asking this question/doing this web search now? I know I looked this up way back when - before I allowed myself to even be nominated or attach myself/persona to it. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Captain Sterling did a search of it early on as well.
  13. Order of Leviathan - Private The Devil's Dozen in to the Order of Leviathan - Public
  14. I agree, the more chatter we get/give about ourselves - the more of an institution we will become. Between that and some well seeded meta keywords planted in the headers of web pages will take over search engines by default.
  15. Set not Satan - Setian just makes them followers of some (made up) brand of Egyptian religion. And as far as I know, the Egyptians didn’t have any concept of Satan – so I’m not sure that they are actually connected. But really that’s besides the point. Like so many good ideas, company and crew names, people often happen upon this stuff independently of each other, even at the same time because it sounds cool – and that’s what copyright lawyers are for. Besides the word Leviathan has been with us for centuries to explain away missing and wrecked ships. I don’t see a reason to let some unknown (Wikipideia) cult take our name from us. Hell, lets steal it from them! I mean as bad-ass as any of us want to play being pyrate – I don’t know anyone here that wants to be part of a group that carries the negative baggage of some death cult, like the followers of Set or the Satanic Church.
  16. The pleasure is all mine. . . at the moment. I've just about contacted everyone - just need to check email, make phone calls and follow up on a few.
  17. Now that I've unpacked everything. . . I think someone stole it.
  18. Hehehe - We'll see what the week-end brings. . .
  19. Yep, I know - have already gotten meslef an earfull. Here's what I have ta say about it. . . not that my opinion means anything. And to people worrying about Pirates Magazine having some influence over the Pub.
  20. Captain Sterling be the man ta know - One of his minions, Josh be a great lad ta fence the small stuff you smuggle off ship or outright steal from the general population. In fact at Pirates in Paradise, Josh sold 4 tankards $20. a piece and they were all shot ta hell. . . literally.
  21. Well I see the new forum has found it's use. . .
