I'm going to try to apply some minor updates (today), rebuild the data tables and re-sync everything - if you could give it a try later this evening or tomorrow I'd appreciate your feed-back.

Bosun Red, If you can give me a bit more information, model of your phone, specific error message, any error message number - I can then use that to figure out\try to track down the problem. It's either some offending bits of software or I may not have something set correctly. Mark, Just to confirm - the native Android tablet's browser doesn't like the Pub, but doesn't mind it so much if you use the Opera browser. . . . But doesn't Opera still have to make use the tablet's virtual keyboard? Or is it just application specific - works with Opera but not with it's native browser? (as it relates to navigating the Pub of course)

Thanks Littleneckhalfshell, As Mission puts it, "Another one slipped through the fence". A spammer wriggled through our defenses and made a handful of posts before we caught on, shut them down and deleted them. Then after that, the Pub's database was slow in resynchronizing the forums and reconciling the now none existent posts. It should be all good now.

From what I can tell, the Pub has not been hacked. However a spammer did get through and started posting stuff. Though it was reported and subsequently deleted, it took a while for it to be pushed out of the database. But please let me know if you see anything else.

Hmmmmmm....... Ya know, Shipmate, there ARE those of us that don't use Facebook. I'm sure I'm not the only one !! Nope I think you're wrong - you are the only one that doesn't use Facebook. . . Maybe you know somebody with an account and can look over their shoulder or something. All I'm trying to do is funnel conversation here - having more than one place for it on the Pub just makes it confusing.

To try and alleviate confusion, I've moved everything from the Public discussion here. I figure anything people want to talk to us about will get voiced on Facebook.

Being that there are several points here to talk about and keep track of, at some point I’ll break each one down into it’s own thread and pin it to the top of the forum. A)Are you electing anyone new? I think we should elect at least two or three new members this year and every year... if we wait too long,say another two years as was suggested, the whole Order will look more like a one shot deal and possibly a failure. We need to act, and act quickly this year. B)If so how many? 2-3 Cascabel, Captain Sterling, I have to agree with you, I think we should elect at least two to three new members into the Order. Now the why and where they should be pooled/pulled from – we all need to discuss. Yes, new members should get rings - period. As for how to finance new member rings, I’m horrible at asking for help or being directly responsible for raising money when there isn't a possible item of invention to sell - I don’t have the answer. But for what it’s worth, I can offer a free block of advertising banner space on the Pub. I don't see it written in the job description, but I think we should make it our job - if only because we haven’t done anything as an organized group/body/order since leaving Baltimore. And besides picking Pyrate of the Year would be a hell of a lot easier to do virtually over the internet than the lot of us getting together and all meeting in person – it once again raises our own visibility as individuals and as a group. . . . not that I'm an attention whore or anything. Now on the point of MC, I haven’t seen everyone in action on stage, but out of those I have - the best MC among us is probably Jewels Evermore (who needs to get himself a damn internet connection).

Alright I changed a few things - mostly just resaved what was there, chime in and let me know if email notifications are working.

Since I didn't get any email notices from the Pub, I'm going to assume that the function is still broke for everybody - I'll do some more digging into it. I can't seem to duplicate this problem in either Microsloth Exploiter or Fire Flux. . . Any chance you can post or send me a screen shot?

I just spent the better part of today clearing out the various systems cache, deleting orphaned files, recompiling data tables and rummaging around the Pub's guts looking for a reason why the notice function hasn't been working. I'm feeling a bit fried to do anything more about it today/tonight, but please give everything a test and see if any of it works.

Yesterday I was wrestling with memory limits on the server and recompiling tables. . . . not that I'm sure that has anything to do with it - but let me do some more of that and get back to you. Thanks for the heads up Captain!
