  1. There have been some situations where people (on the Pub) who have had the best of intentions to honestly fulfill their (verbal/contractual) obligations. But for whatever reasons, after a few jobs they're either overwhelmed, by the work, demand or both and stop communicating. As Dutchman says, this is a pretty small (intimate) community and you can bet that someone on the Pub has likely had dealings with whoever you're having problems with. From time to time, a few of us have been called upon to make inquiries on the behalf of others. I would like to say that in most cases everything works out for the best, with either the original work being completed or a refund. But like in Oderless Eye's case, some venders just drop off the face of the earth and disappear with your money. My suggestion is to use Paypal whenever possible - there's at least a mechanism for lodging complaints and getting your money back.
  2. Oi Mark, Give it another try. I just updated the Pub's Software - I'm hoping that it's taken care of this.
  3. The search function should be working now. . .
  4. Thanks again Shipmate - we're working on it.

  7. Can you give me a "cut & paste" of the error code and text you're getting? I just uploaded an image - the only problem I'm having is that the image doesn't display right away in browser after the uploaded. It's actually there, I just had to hit the F5 or Refresh button on my browser to update the page display and show that the image was indeed uploaded. But if you're getting an ERROR - I need to know a couple things. - What Operating System are you running? Windows, Mac, Smartphone - What browser are you using? IE, Firefox, Opra, Smartphone - What error code and text you're getting? Anybody else having this problem - please chime in.

  9. The Pyracy Pub is back online!

  10. Elena, it’s a constant, never ending global trend. We've seen it before and it's just a matter of wading through it until a better scheme is devised to baffle their efforts. By now I would hope most of our users are smart enough to avoid viruses by not clicking on/following spam links. Jendobyns, though I would like to take credit for keeping spam at bay – really, I’m not that fast. Both Mission, Dutchman and the Moderators do their share of keeping things tidy – with Mission doing most of it. Michael, some days I’m on the verge of blocking users registering with .ru email addresses. But as Mission points out, there's plenty of spammers using aol, gmail and msn/hotmail email accounts, so blocking .ru in it’s self is the answer. But I do block specific email domain names that churn out streams of spam/bot users and are just an obvious front for an online marketing scheme. As Mission pointed out, the Pub is part of a service that collects spammer information, names, ip and email addresses and shares it with the rest of the message board community. So when a known spammer has been flagged on another message board and then tries to register onto the Pub - the Pub will automatically bans/freezes their account. Everytime I login - I easily delete between 20 and 70 flagged spammers from the Pub’s database. No one knows about them because they never get through the front door or get the chance to post their spam. The very few that do slip by and annoy us - is such a small percentage compared to that number trying to get in and exploit us. As for motives or goals – plunder or mayhem, I would assume it’s a combination of both depending on who’s sending it.

  15. Still have a few hick-ups to iron out of the Gallery, but we should be back online with it tomorrow - hopefully before lunch time.
  16. Okay, I'm having trouble uploading too. Anybody had luck uploading or not uploading? As for totally scrambled, there are definitely bugs. It seems to be loosing it's place while you navigate. It then bumps you out of whatever nested Album Gallery you're looking in and reloads the entire gallery - forcing you to start over.
  17. The Gallery seems to be working for the most part. A ) Entering text is annoying - can't see the line cursor and arrow keys are useless for general screen navigation when entering text in the edit area. B ) Moving pictures from one Album to another doesn't automatically make it's self apparent - you have to hit the refresh several times to get thing to display. Anyone try to upload?

Haha - sorry Mate . . . actually I did just buy a Queen Anne pistol kit I plan to build this spring, summer or something.
  19. The Pub has a new Image Gallery System that's been rewritten from the ground up. I lost my internet connection during the install/upgrade process, which promptly took down the Gallery and the Pub along with it - that was a couple of days ago. Once I my internet connection was restored, it was trivial getting the Pub back up and running - however the Gallery was crippled and offline. Yesterday evening I was finally able to the Gallery back on line (with the help of Jason), but that's as far as I've gotten. I'm sure there's plenty to do from an Administrative stand point - ropes to pull, features to setup and activate, people to throw overboard. I'll be working on doing that today. - Stynk
  20. An Silkie what are you surfing the Pub with PC or MAC?
  21. Sorry I missed your post Zingara. . . but there should be a little "Insert Image" icon near the top of your input window. I'll post a screen capture showing where it is once I get the Image Gallery back online.
  22. I just created/setup a new Facebook App for the Pub. It's suppose to integrate your Pyracy.com and Facebook login. Users should be able to sync their Pyracy.com avatars & Facebook profile pictures and broadcast their status. Pre-existing users should also be able to associate their accounts through a settings page. Please give it a try and let me know how well (or if) it works.
