  1. August 20th at 4pm the brethren o the space coast will be meeting at cocoa village for a fundraiser for cancer research, we have been invited to go on board the "Indian River Queen" to help raise money for breast cancer research this even should last about four hours if anyone would like to join us for an evening of pillaging and mayhem give me a shout and i will set you up.

  2. while at work this evening i started thinking about old style pocket books and wallets then the thought occurred to me, where did 18th century mariners keep their money?... was it in a pouch tied to their belt, or was it a cloth wallet of some sort, i tried looking for information but came up empty handed, what do yall think or know about this?

  3. thanks,. the slops are ones i made from a kass pattern and the shirt i got from jas townsend along with the shoes untill i can get better ones, ive been on the lookout for something that would make a good cudgel about the length of a cane, more than likely i'm going to order another shirt like this one cause it is sooo damn comfy.

  4. thanks for fixing the links, im not planning on participating in any events unless i can talk someone into letting on a float for the parade or just walk next to one, and the bash saturday night i just plan on hanging out and having a good time, the one piece of information i cant seem to find is wether or not i need a scabbard for my cutlass, im probly going to pick up a boarding ax from tiger lee so that'll suffice.

  5. the tricorn i started out with was the basic brown one from Jas Towsend&son i liked it and wore it for a long time but i just felt like something was missing GMTrs.jpg[/img] started out as this and when i was done we have this VEHgD.jpg[/img][/img] xUWpt.jpg[/img] rVupv.jpg[/img]

  6. when i was there last year a few of us went to the museum and the caves (i loved the little tiki bar right outside) and i found an awesome Greek restaurant right on the main drag... im hoping to get pictures of me in my gard on the beach like a washed up shipwreck like someone did on here lol

  7. is anybody planning on going this year?, some friends of mine from school and i are planning on going though i dont know how i feel about going to the bash since i dont really have any "formal" pirate garb so i'll probably be drinking at the tavern instead.

  8. not sure if this goes here or in the armory but while i was sitting at my bench at work thinking about pirate things; a random thought came to mind.

we know that the Kentucky Longrifle dates back to around 1730 and is a bastardization of sorts of the Pennsylvania rifle brought over from the Germans which is an adaptation of the Jager rifle used for hunting in Germany, so my question is... is it possible that a few of these Jager rifles could have made their way into the hands of privateers and or pirates during early 18th century and on? in my mind i can see the possibility being that it could have been raided from a vessel or if a sailor was from that part of the world making it's way on board some vessels.

  9. i will be going to the Bahamas for my Company cruise next month and will be heading up the Pirate Museum in full garb on the 22nd, SO... if anybody will be in the area i would be more than happy to oblige you with a beer at a fantastic Greek cafe i found while there last year, i will also be doing some scuba diving at cocoa cay.

  10. this does bring up a very interesting thought as i have an ferocious appetite for nautical history and even mountain man wilderness survival, though i do not necessarily believe in past lives persay it is thought pervoking non the less.
