Clay It really isn't that hard to work with. Maybe I'll get myself one of those big lumps of clay they use at the Scouts (not steal it from them ) and make some miniature pirates, ships and others out of it.

Like William Kidd burying his family bible. Scanned that one in two years ago, traced over it and made it into the title screen of Little Pirate

I should use it as research reference then, using it to see what I need to look deeper into.

Dutch version of it, so called Zeerovers, not The Pirates, but yeah, that's the one. Seemed like there was alot of information in. Was skimming through the chapter on William Kidd in there yesterday. Wouldn't know how that'd be basic. Then again, it was just skimming.

Maybe we can test it. I could translate a couple of parts of that book so they can be checked for accuracy and correctnes.

Finally found my book on pirates again. It's written by Douglas Botting. Now I was wondering... anybody know how accurate information from him is?

Anybody here know how to talk like a pirate in Dutch? For some weird, historically incorrect reason, there's a tutorial on how to talk like a pirate in German (German pirates? They don't even have a shore ), but none 'bout talking in Dutch. It'll be a hemorrhoid for TLAPD for me, as I can't go speak in English all day.

Hehehe, having squires around that could do the household, the cleaning and cooking, taking care of the horse... I could use one of them in my room. Then again, I don't like guys to hang out in my room. Feels awkward

It's the way you raise your kids that makes the difference. I've been a scouts-leader for a couple of years now, and have noticed that some kids're awesome to deal with, while others're nothing but a nuisance, big-mouthed, arrogant brats that're a waste of genes. Those that're great, are mostly of average parents and raised with a tick when they deserve it. Those that're hell in person, are mostly of overly rich parents that've been raised in one of those newly-fangled semi-pedagogically ways, the crap that goes "Punishing a kid's bad for its moral. Never punish it." and "Giving it a slight tick against the head is the same as beating the snot out of it." Those kids turn out to be spoiled, manipulative, arrogant people that think they're superiour to everybody. I can imagine that such kids can be a let-down in having kids, but at the end, they're like a tamagochi: They turn out good or bad depending on how you raise them. Another part is taking responsibility for it. I've seen kids become big, bad, sneaky, backstabbing harrassers, and the parents know 'bout it, but are blaming one year of school and don't do any effort to change it. See my point? Wether your kids are a gift from above or hell on earth entirely depends on you and your partner.

Saxo Grammaticus included the tale of Alwida (aka Alfhild, Alvilda)--who dressed in male attire and became a pirate rather than marry the King of Denmark's son--in his history of the Danes. Only after Prince Alf captured her did he learn that the infamous pirate was his intended and they wed aboard his ship. There remains some question as to whether Alwida was a viking pirate or whether she lived before the Viking Age and many historians believe her tale is a myth.

Edit:Also found something 'bout an article in preparation that's called "Pirate Kingdom: Sweden 1562-1583.", written by Jason Lavery.

Closest I could find, was some woman called Alwida, but it's not in the Golden Age of piracy. Was around the Viking age as well.
