I also looked into purchasing a few ships and crew from eBay, but after speaking with a few “purists” from the local game store I held off, for now at least. They are starting a league on Sunday afternoons and they don’t look too kindly on internet buyers. They believe in buying the packs and then trading with others to build your collection. I guess it’s a matter of ones opinion aye? At any rate, my daughter has claimed the Pirate fleet, while I have the Brits and my son got stuck with the Spanish.

Arrrr! The youngin' received a couple of booster packs for Christmas. Even my eldest took an interest in the game and we've been to the game store to grab a few more packs. I've even been spending some time on the web sight to pick up a few hints on building a fleet and strategy. Pirates of the Spanish Main

The wife showed me this one since she has us booked for a three day cruise this summer. A new Pirates in the Caribbean party is taking over the Disney Magic cruise ship, transforming guests aboard into pirates for the evening and treating them to a scrumptious dinner feast and adventurously themed deck party that would make Captain Jack Sparrow proud. This newly themed evening aboard Disney's seven-night cruise vacations to the eastern and western Caribbean brings together the traditional cruise dinner and deck party with a rowdy buccaneer bash combining invigorating entertainment, themed dining experiences and brand new special effects for an evening that's perfect for every member of the family. Starting in the dining room, servers dressed as pirates play the part by welcoming guests with customary greetings of ‘ahoy matey’ and ‘argh’ while serving ‘grog’ rather than drinks. Guests delight in learning the pirate lifestyle by donning specially made pirate bandanas and choosing pirate themed dinner selections from a parchment rolled menu. As the evening transitions from the dining room to high atop decks 9 and 10, a treasure trove of entertainment opens with classic Disney characters dressed in pirate garb, high-energy special effects and interactive audience participation set to music favorites for a new kind of celebration. Well we did it and had a great time! We joined up with the Exchange Club which had a Pirate ship float crewed by a local Girl Scout Troop. I was asked a couple of times to have me picture taken with a few youngin's as I passed out me chocolate coins. Sorry to report though that I put me wife in charge of taking a few pictures which she did not. She never was much fer taking pictures, oh well.

Alright, the daughter and I are all set to go. We have just about 600 chocolate coins to hand out to the kiddies. It is supposed to get up to 47 degrees with a partly sunny sky and a 10 to 15 mph wind. Hope we don't freeze! The wife picked up these cool boxes to carry our loot in, I just gave them a quick staining and there are ready to go!

Well this weekends the parade, if I don't chicken out, I'll post some pictures.

Alright I'm back and I would say it was a typical average Sponge Bob episode. I would say I've seen funnier ones on the old boob tube. And on top of that, after 20 some minutes of commercials and previews, they raise the house lights for late arrivers as the movie starts with NO SOUND! missed the whole beginning pirate intro.

Dang Josh! I sure hope it isn't as bad as you say for I'm leaving within the hour to go see it with the youngin's. I'll give my review as soon as I return.

Cool boat, ah...I mean ship! That would be quite a project for a local re-enactor group to be involved with. I wonder if it would be possible to round up some investors?

When the kids first started watchin' Sponge Bob I hated it, but after awhile I began to like it. Can't wait ta take the youngin's! We still do limit viewing time though, but Sponge Bob sure beats Fairly Odd Parents!

My sword arrived today and I would say, with my limited knowledge of swords, that this seems to be a very well built replica. It is much heavier than I expected and the basket is pretty hefty, my hand easily fits inside. I also picked up one of those flintlocks.

Well I did a search and came across this thread, and after reading the whole thing along with months of shopping around for a sword, I finally came across a deal on ebay I couldn't pass up. 56 bucks with shipping, I'll let you know how it is when it arrives, but I just wanted to share my good news!

Christmas on the High Seas "A Tribute to Swashbucklers and other Seafaring Legends!" Saturday December 4th @ 1pm Ship Bottom, New Jersey 'Tis be the theme of the local annual Xmas parade. Of course, after many years of just watchin' from the gutters I'll have to don me garb and hit the streets. I figure at least the daughter and I can stroll along and mingle with the crowd as we hand out those chocolate coins or perhaps... Anyone have a pirate ship float or any ideas how to construct one quickly and cheaply?

Just watched it again before returning the tape. Liked it more the second time around, guess I'll get me a dvd copy.
