  1. I spoke too soon. It's actually snowing in the Bay Area at some of the lower elevations (as in parts of Silicon Valley.) There is plenty of snow in the hills as well.
  2. For a former marina kitty, Morgan is a surprisingly spoiled darling. His nickname is "Little Lord Fauntleroy" for good reason. So I made a special collar for him, which he wears on special occasions. A friend of mine took this pic with her Blackberry. It shows an entirely different side of him... (no, there were no touch-ups - this is exactly how the pic turned out.) Evil kitty:
  3. California is a BIG state. You could fit a dozen East Coast states inside of it and still have plenty of extra space. We actually have two zones here: Northern California is in a temperate zone and Southern California is a sub-tropical desert. So yes - it gets quite cold and snowy in Northern and Central California. Here in the Bay Area we do get below-freezing temperatures (mostly overnight) but it only snows in the higher elevations. Closer to the water we get rain, ice, gail-force (and sometimes hurricane-force) winds and hail.
  4. It cooled down by about 20 degrees over the weekend hereabouts. Snow in the higher elevations and lots of rain below. I drove to work in a hailstorm this morning - that was fun...
  5. Wow - congratulations!! Does this mean you'll be buying an office couch now?...
  6. I'd say post 'em. If someone doesn't want to see them, they can ignore the thread. No reason why only the sketchbook folks should get to enjoy your comics.
  7. Mine will go out this week as well - I've got the gift but need to box it up. It's not piratey but it was picked for a reason.
  8. Well, happy birthday! Hope this year brings the availability of all your favourite obscure shows to DVD!
  9. Hmmm.... Master and Commander Last of the Mohicans Heavy Metal POTC1 The Commitments There's more but that's what comes to mind right now.
  10. Your accent is very faint. If I didn't already know you were from Texas, I wouldn't have been able to tell. (Folks tell me the same thing about my Canadian accent - with few exceptions, the only folks who have recognised that I even had one were from Canada.) I'm partial to Scottish and Australian accents myself.
  11. Lady B - definitely a different Jill. I'm the several-years-older brunette one on the West coast. We can always use more red-hands - welcome to the Pub!
  12. That IS an accomplishment. Congratulations!!
  13. There's some great diving in that "murky green ocean" - it's not always so murky. And there are some terrific things to see down there! Although, I must admit that I've experienced varying levels of visibility, some great, some not so great - and there's always some joker who says, "You should've been here LAST weekend - sixty foot visibility!"
  14. Happy birthday to the man who has given us back our playground! Here's to another successful trip around the sun!!
  15. Aye - happy anniversary of your natal day!!
  16. I just got it today and have sent Kate's to Sophia.
  17. Quick - someone grab this! Sewing/Crafts chest: Needs some work but it would be a great storage box.
  18. Yeah - as with all things Jill this is situational. I do both kinds of events so I have the flashy "Hollywood" garb as well as wool/linen/etc. reenactment garb.
  19. It's great having that off your chest, isn't it? Congratulations!
