I thought about doing the yard sometime in the future similar to your plans....what a wonderful place to play...... My first thought on the interior was to duplicate a ship's below deck but have since rethought and want not duplicate the ship but give it a feel of a ship without making it claustrophobic....I'm still sketching different ideas.....waiting on the tax return check...lol You are right about tying down everything outside....I still have a flattened tiki hut from the last hurricane to haul off.....been waiting on a good freeze so I don't reach into the pile and grab a snake...yuck! Last week I took my wife, Chris, With me to speak to a 7th grade English Class about piracy.....Had lots of Fun and she enjoyed herself.....That night I walked up behind her and she was singing Yo Ho Yo Ho a pirates life for me.....we laughed and later she said. "Since we have to repair the termite damage to the kitchen, why don't we just make the house look like the inside of a ship...oooooooo I'm in heaven. So today I bought some of the first items for the remodeling job. Canon shot one: http://josephlosteen.com/plunder/canon01300.jpg Canon shot two: http://josephlosteen.com/plunder/canon02250.jpg Copper port and starboard lights: http://josephlosteen.com/plunder/lights300.jpg Here is one concept of the south end of the family room We figure we only life one life, why should we live it the way other people think we should live......I'll keep you posted on this long process. He sales so much in his store(mostly to tourist) that he closed his online store to focus on his main business. Bill (owns Tom's..lol) said he will reopen the on line store as a side line after he retires. He also cast concrete ship's canon yard displays but they are a little pricy for something to heady to lug around and does not even fire. If you are ever in St. Augustine, his shop is worth a visit. Best KP

No, his store is on Anastasia Island on the way to St. Augustine Beach.

I wanted to let you know that a friend of mine, Bill from Tom's Gifts in St. Augustine, will be set up at the MEGACON at the ornge county center in orlando on Feb 26-28 with over $30,000 worth of swords for sale. I buy lots of my pirate items from Bill in his St. Augustine Shop. Yours in Pyracy KP

I have them all and read each one....loved the parts at sea but not the doctor, spy and botanist parts......difficult to get excited about most of the non sea content...I found myself skipping to the part I thought I would like and I did enjoy some sections.....I like the Dudley Pope and Alexander books much better....Great Reads. I am like you, I do it for the fun and Hollywood is just fine with me. I have had a busy and hard life.....grew up on a shrimp boat in Key West and later St. Augustine....started heading shrimp when I was 6 yrs old for a quarter for each water bucket full...later I spent 8 yrs in the navy..... now that I am older and get some free time, getting back in time to a life that was hard, dangerous and short lived is not nearly as appealing as just dressing up and playing the "Dandy Pirate....lol When I play I want to get away from reality and be something I can not be in real life. Oh Yeah, I try to squeeze in writing a book when I can. Yours in the make believe world of Piracy. Joe

King's Pyrate replied to dharman07's topic in Crafting Kit
I had mine made by a local civil war seamstress...I just gave her a picture of what I wanted and she did the rest. Might be cheaper than most other sources. Good Fortune in your search KP -
Found this on a movie page. Mr. Macfadyen has joined the cast of 'Blackbeard' in the role of "Blackbeard." The four-hour miniseries costars Richard Chamberlain, Stacy Keach, Rachel Ward, Nick Farrell and Jessica Chastain. Currently filming in Thailand, the screenplay was scripted by Bryce Zabel and is being directed by Kevin Connor for Hallmark Entertainment. It is scheduled to air in June of 2006.

while researching "A King's Pirate"...(I am bringing Nathan Beauchamp of the Royal Navy to Northeast Florida)IStumbled on info on the local pirates. Seems like quite a few of the fellows took a shot at plundering our nation's oldest city. I plan on it being a small historical book. Wish me Luck Joe (KP)

Hurricane, let me know when your group is coming up some time & I'll put out the word to him. I am sure he would love to to see that I am not the only person who is a pirate at heart. KP
