  2. Last Fall I read an article where Russel Crowe said he was going to produce the next Aubrey movie but it did not give a time frame.
  3. So ye gonna be a Pyrate star! That was the pic that gave me the idea for the ballasters /railing in the cove. We found an artist to do the Mural. we decided it will go beyond the borders of the roll-up door... The content,I will keep under wraps till it's all done ...... Ahh suspence.... That is an inspiring picture for us with remodeling in mind.......I really like the feel it emits. I have done a few local & regional TV interviews for my books and several for our POTC 2 pirate party last year but this extra appearance will be the first on national TV if I get into the final show. Good luck with your mural......I am anxious to see it and love watching your pirate room grow and bloom. Pirates Rule!!! Joe
  4. I thankee kindly, sir.....it just came to me in a dream...as it were......I have already moved one to the blue wall and am think'n of moving more or getting some mounts for my other ships.......I have also been think'n of how my 55 inch constitution model would look as a pirate ship........of course my plunder provide has a wonderful wooden pirate ship but the price be $238.... a might high when this o'l pirate could use his on resources to decorate me pirate room. On another note the TV show "Wife Swap" is in town filming an author from our promotion group....they will film our monthly meeting on Saturday and have asked me to come to another filming in my garb on Monday......seems they film lots of footage about each wife then send it to the editors for the final show......I might end up on the cutting floor but I am sure it will be a fun experience....I'll let you know if I make the final for the show. Keep Plunder'n KP

  8. a. 3 b. 2 c. Movie/fiction books d. Book business/escapism
  9. This is a little bit of work but it is something you can do yourself using the art you find on line.......for my project I found large pirate book covers and movie posters on line ...downloaded them...might be piracy< I think...lol......I then printed them on my home printer, cut them out and applied them to posterboard with Modpodge.....I put on a coat of modpodge and while it was wet laid on the pictures and then applied an overall coat of modpodge...it drys within an hour and is ready to mount....I framed mine and put it on my dressor for now. Just an Idea which might work for you in some way. Best King's Pyrate.
  10. RhumbaRue, when Isaw M&C, It looked like a vessel as big as the USSConstellation. What I remember about the Rose was something onlyslightly larger than the Mayflower in PLymouth Mssachusetts. I read that the Rose is a three quarter sized replica of the original HMS Rose....I'd still love to take a trip on her.

  12. Oh...I really like that....where DO you find all those wonderful decorations?
  13. The wall behind the washer and dryer is small enough that you might want to enclose them.....perhaps louvered doors (like closet doors) or a solid door with something nautical on it like a painting or a port hole. I am slowly working on my living room but it is still a work in process....I'll post some photos when I am further along. Keep up the Great Work... "An imagination is a wonderful world in which to play" KP
  14. Glad you and Oderlesseye liked it.....it was enjoyable to build...I have been drooling over oderlesseye's pirate area since he first posted the photos...(WELL DONE, SIR)....Capt.Trad.Wind, be sure to take photos of you project...whould love to see what you do. Live Long and Plunder Well! KP
  15. I was reading one of the pirate books I received for Christmas and thought this may help answer your question.....sorta! In "A Worldwide Illustrated history, PIRATES, Terror on the High Seas from the Caribbean to the South China Sea. ISBN 1-57215-264-8 in the Golden Age of Piracy chapter, written by Jenifer G. Marx...page111 Bellamy, the Orator" it speaks of Captain Samuel Bellamy. "Bellamy left his wife and children near Canterbury in order to cut his teeth in the West Indies as a WRACKER, one of those who set out false beacons to lure unwary vessels to their shores and plunder their cargoes. Fair Winds KP
  16. I remember a Disney movie about such activities....they were called MOONRAKERS...They would set false fires to lure ships up on reefs...then they would row out and take the booty....perhaps it was a made up Disney name but it was a great story.
  17. It was a Great Pirate Christmas for me. I got these little pirates and replica of this 1760 Hadley London pistol I also got POTC, old charts & Don Maitz calendars. An Aztec Cold coin and a POTC locket, an Inner Pirate T-shirt and Pirateology book. and my son made me this pirate ship's wheel It was a Great and busy Christmas. We had four of our six children and their families over on Christmas Eve, went to a friends 65th wedding anniversary renewal of vows on Christmas day and I completed my BS in Industrial Engineering......a busy but wonderful time.
  18. I wanted to make something for the Pirate House project that did not cost lost of doubloons so I looked around at things I have that can be used for the project. I covered the speaker box with floor planking left over from the Galley project.. I picked up a mod podge box from the local craft shop for $4 and used the weather instruments from a a 20 year old hanging Wal Mart weather station. I used a craft store ship's wheel that I bought 8 years ago for $12. I wanted the wheel to turn so my grand children could play with it when they visit. I used an old ceiling fan to give the wheel movement. Here is the weather station with humidity, temperature, and barometer and a wheel that the grandchildren can play with. The completed weather station with humidity, temperature, and barometer from a distance. Follow the conversion of our home into the Pirate House Project
  19. Yeah!...I have 2 1/2 rooms full of Pirate Plunder.....if the little wench had not turned to the "Dark Side" I would have to build me a pirate room addition but she has agreed to decorate the house with my pirate collection. Now I have to get the right affordable ideas for the final design. Yours in Piracy! KP
  20. Hey King's Pyrate I think your the guy that inspired me in the first place with the idea of the ballasters. I thank ye kindly. Perhaps you can post some of your progress on this thread and we can have Rumba edit the topic heading. Else please start nother thread so we can see your handy work! I can't wait! Well Sir, The Galley floor is completed.....it took a weekend and lots of doubloons.....I can see this is going to be a slow, expensive process. I have set up some web pages to mark my journey......here is the link to the floor project. KP's Galley floor Now I am thinking of things I can do that don't cost a King's Ransom. Live Long and Plunder Well! KP
  21. Let me know when you get near St. Augustine. There are several marinas. The City facility downtown in the old city, (Matanzas Bay) Commachee Cove on the Timiqua River (intercoastal waterway) and several on the San Sebastian River. One even has a Pirate Restaurant & bar. Also lots of Boat yards and haul out facilities. There are available anchorages on the Matanzas Bay south of the Bridge of Lions and the City Marina. Best KP
  22. If you get a chance to stop in St. Augustine.....give me a yell and I'll drop off some more books. Live Long and Plunder Well. Joe
  23. Cindy Valler, Pirate Havens Wikipedia, Port_Royal 1620 Earthquake, Port Royal Hope these help but really there are too many to list...try a good search engine. Good Luck with the novel. Live Long and Plunder Well! Joe
