Coming Soon! ST. Augustine Pirate University is a fun FREE web site that refreshes your knowledge with a brief overview of various aspects of Pirateology. At St. Augustine Pirate University we offer the student an opportunity to earn a free professional degree in their chosen field of piracy. Our degree programs are: Associate, Baccalaureate, and Master Degrees in Piracy, Buccaneering, Privateering, and Re-enacting. It is our hope that you enjoy your course of study while fulfilling the goal of obtaining your degree in piracy or associated careers. We are almost up and running with our, start up, basic curriculum. Our plan is to become a repository for sharing knowledge of pirate information. We will host all areas of interest from basic history through detailed information of sail handling, navigation, modern reenacting, movies, books, and are open for content. Of course we are not a sanctioned educational institution. We are an association of pirate enthusiasts who have established this center for pirate "Knowledge Sharing" in a format that measures your pirate knowledge and acknowledges your level, with a free diploma, as a way of peer recognition. We hope that you enjoy the process of refreshing your pirate knowledge and take pride in your accomplishment and that of your Brethren Pirates, Buccaneers, Privateers and Reenactors. Very Nice...now how much does it cost and where might a pirate find himself such a fine time piece?

A tourist couple, who will be visiting St. Augustine on the 14th of September to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary, have asked me to conduct a pirate wedding where they will be rededicating them selves to each other in the finest pirate traditions. They will then take the two hour sunset cruise on the Tall Ship Freedom and we decided to help them enjoy their wedding by joining them and see what we can pillage on the waters of Matanzas Bay. Must be a Florida thing.... On the other hand, you make yourselves easy pickin's out of a crowd. I have given this some thought and research. It is my opinion that a pirate is a reflection of his environment. Florida was Spanish and like the other Spanish tropical and sub tropical areas of the Caribbean and Northern South America the typical dress was light colors, particularly white to help reflect the intense heat. Seamen also often wore clothing made from sail cloth. Most countries had bright white sails while English sails were a little more dingy off white. I think that when you see clothing of browns, grays etc…. they are clothes from Europe and North America….It must have been terrible for those who tried to wear their Northern Hemisphere clothing in the tropics. It is uncomfortably hot here at least 10 months of the year. King's Pyrate

I thought the first picture oderlesseye posted with the shouvle was his way of getting past the cannon........ I could always post a watch but Captain Eye has plenty of his own plunder and a long way to sail to get to mine.....I may be safe.....lol Honesty ain't what it is quacked up to be..... KP

I got it near the door ta keep Captain Eye from Stealing me plunder......actually it is a wooden replica (easy to pull around) that I use at book signings....hate to leave it to weather in the yard.

I bought this canon from a local fellow who bought it from the Lightner Museum.....it is a wooden replica ( light weight so I can pull it around at book signings)..the museum used to pull it out front each morning to attract tourist. I got it for $80 but it is just what I need. Where I bought mine has several made of concrete....good for static display ...Captain Eye has some nice canon, perhaps he can point ye in the right direction for a good canon. Ok! Mr. Eye..ye sure make it hard to keep up with your pirate decor...what a great vision you have and the drive to see it through. Remember my "Pirates are Us" room (your description)..well I decided to redecorate...I want the room to be piratey while using less plunder so I can use some of my assets in other rooms.....so I am doing it with paint......I am not finished but feel I am well on my way....this be the west side of the room,...I'll post more as I get it completed. You might have guessed that with another pirates of the Caribbean movie out that we would use it as an excuse to have a pirate party....and that we did....here are our photos. Finally my little blond 2 year old Grand Daughter (in the blue dress) and her Mom (in the black dress) have turned to the dark side and joined us in pirate fun.
