    Wardrobe Inspiration

inspiration for Costumes to portray a Buccaneer
  2. This year I got Greyhound on cast as a cast character, and even took part in the Combat Chess match. I even trained the other cast pirates in pirate history
  3. Here are some of my Recent ones. The two with me in the blue coat are from a loval Twelfth Night Feast, I was proud to have one first place in the costume contest this year. My dad, who I went with, is of the opinion I had it locked in as soon as I stepped inside.
  4. That is some incredible braiding. I don't think I'd be able to manage that.

  6. Thanks mate, I will also get the info for the other members of the Brood for you.
  7. I am a member of two crews. One is a guild called the Devil's Brood Pyrates, and is made up of multiple crews from around the US. We have members in Ohio, and Virginia, each state is headed by a Chapter/State Commodore, we do anything from re-enactments to performing, but require members to have a certain level of historical authenticity. One chapter, is also made up of vendors and performers who travel from state to state and festival to festival, and are called the 'Roving Fleet'. We can be reached on our facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/thedevilsbroodpyrates?fref=ts My personal crew is called 'The Knights of the Black Flag' which is a re-enactment/ performing troop dedicated to romantic and realistic pirate portrayals from 1660-1690 or so. In other words, We are based in reality, but also do pyrate fantasy. The Knights of the Black Flag are also, as the name implies, do portrayals of honorable, but formidable pirates, and members of the Knights have to agree to having their personas abide by an invented code for our crew, we have a facebook page, but it isn't public yet as the Knights only has one member. Anyone can message me for details for either.
  8. Homemade is good? that's awesome! I'm an artist, so I was hoping I could join and do a drawing.
  9. hey mate! welcome to Pyracy Pub! wasn't expecting to see you here, it's Edward-Smee from deviantart. I gave you a compliment recently on the same garb on deviantart
  10. Is anyone familiar with a pirate named 'John Derdrake' ? I have only found reference to him three times. twice on a pirate website, and once in a picture of old pirate trading cards. Supposedly he was a pirate and shipwright who plundered in the baltic between Sweden, Denmark, and England and commanded a 70 gun ship called the 'Sudden Death' he settled in Stralsund but was captured when he ventured into another port and was hanged. This info came from the website I mentioned. I'm curious because my persona commands an 80 some gun ship and I'm curious because I believed this was impossible till now. Of course there is the obvious chance he was invented to feed a public obsessed with pirate lore, but I could be wrong and he was more of a local legend. The article certainly made him seem like a small time pirate.
  11. As near as I can tell it LOOKS like: God gives loiric graces o forcas. Knowing it's faded, I would assume it once said 'God gives loving graces of Forgiveness' which easily fits with Christian Philosphy I'm not sure of the second line.
  12. Thanks mates! The top three are from my guild's photoshoot. It's an open event we're doing annually from now on.
