We have an accord. Splendid! For anyone who is interested, the best place to find accurate and up to date info would be on the Pirate Brethren web forum. However, as things unfold, obviously I will post the details here as well. Until then!

I saw nary a drop, dash it all!

That would be me!

You got that right. That kid's smile just made my day. "Why, it makes me young again. I was going to forget my timber leg, I was. It's a pleasant thing to be young and have ten toes, and you may lay to that."

Brrrr... cold walk today... I need to find something to do for when it gets really cold.

I'm a writer... a technical writer of cartographic specs for the Office of Coast Survey, Marine Chart Division. However, I just ended a four month stint running an electronic navigational chart production branch. A year ago I was working a special assignment cataloging wrecks for the Marine Sanctuaries RUST database. Prior to working for the Marine Chart Division, I was reading the text for the US Army Center of Military History's official history of the Medical Corps in the European Theatre and making maps to match the text. About 20 years ago I was doing interesting things for the Defense Intelligence Agency, which included but was not limited to annotating photographs (of installations in a country I thought was an ally) with bombing numbers... Iraq.

Shivver me timbers... you show up, and I'll bring the bacon!!!

Ok, you win. Everyone can go home now.

It was fun. I don't think it was as much fun as the summer edition, but it was fun... and you know, the summer edition of the Lockhouse is in July... way far away from PiP... and the rumor is they are going to bring two ships in to duke it out next summer, and if that is the case, you can bet your pirate bippy I'm going to try getting some of us out there to do a boarding action. So start saving your nickels and dimes Mr Hand.

Cold day for a fire drill, but it allowed me to take a huge walk and I killed two... or three... or four birds with one stone!

Crickey! Me... goofin' around again... maybe getting ready to sneeze... I'm actually glad my cold didn't get any worse over the weekend. must've been the rum... dang, I wish someone would've gotten a pic of me with the Golden Spoon!

My favorite thus far... http://public.fotki.com/BeckyFitz/susqueha...sa/dsc0048.html

Bingo! Glad you were able to get that one! It's a classic! Your turn!

Having done this event umpteen times now, and considering I don't really like breaking a camera out during public hours, the only pics I took were of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure Tents! Those folk have spent some serious money (and time) on their tentage. They served up one tastey banquet! I'm sure a bunch will turn up on Becky's photo site ere long... http://public.fotki.com/BeckyFitz/susqueha...living_history/

In that case... Doc, he lies in his sack all day long, bores me silly with great, moronic plots against the captain. He's never carried out one of them.
-
Without a doubt! Not only does it count, but if you make as many twists and turns carrying large boxes as I do, I also will vouch for it being a great way to practice you Muttly impersonation... Rassum brassum rassum brassum

Be that as it may, he doesn't have your accent I'll wager!

While I'm handing out praise, for someone who is a relative newcomer to this, I have to say I was impressed with what you turned out with in the way of kit. You looked really good. Keep up the good work!
-
I want to particularly praise you, ma'am. You looked great, in a very correct for what we are trying to do way, and I appreciate the effort very much. That, and your willingness to join in a scenario and get dirty and have some fun, makes you a credit to the hobby. While driving home I came up with an improved "Irate Husband" scenario. It'll work much better than the "winging it" version I came up with there. So, til next year!

It died again, didn't it?
-
Still beat... reenacting is good exercise, trust me. But even though my feet and legs and arms are sore, I took a good walk. Only 56 more days and I can let this thread die...
-
I'd like to offer my thanks to all who attended! Great fun! I look forward to doing it again next year!
-
Dang, I'm beat again... we did three scenarios again today... the last being a repeat of one we did yesterday, in which Sterling gets taken captive by the local militia, then strung up from a tree to hang until dead... while we ruuuuuunnnn all the way back from where we were to were the camps were to attempt a rescue. Running. I thought I didn't have to do that sort of thing anymore.

I dunno... parts of me have problems with labels... but I know as human beings we are always trying to make things fit into categories... which is a good reason to read the Tao of Pooh... I suspect many people here have some odd notions about who I am, based on how I reply to many threads here... I'm sure I'm thrown in with the authenticity bad guys camp... maybe unjustly so... maybe not... and I'm just rambling on when I should be getting ready for an event... If I had a philosophy about this getting dressed up in funny clothes thing... I guess it would be do it the way you feel right in doing it... don't care about what labels others want to put on you... label yourself if you feel so inclined... but most importantly... be flexible... like P'u... the Uncarved Block... Btw... there are some really cool pics in this thread... folks are lookin' good!

Bruising... hmmm... no idea... but I guess there's a reason why Roman gladiators were fed a diet that kept them on the chubby side... Ok, so I spent most of yesterday running about being chased by or chasing the forces of law and order... carrying a hefty blunderbuss... and I must say if I reenacted every day, I'd drop weight in a hurry! I'm sore. I'm slightly hungover. I'm going back out and doing it again today. Huzzah!
