  1. We need your help - The Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester Massachusetts is in dire need of Pirates for our annual, Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 18th, 2010 (our original group has since canceled out on us). Our museum is being surrendered for all piratical needs. If interested, drop a line to Devon (aka Plaid Pete) at dkurtz@higgins.org.

    The Higgins Armory Museum

Presenting the facts behind the fairy tales, the Higgins Armory Museum sparks the imagination of visitors of all ages with arms and armor ranging from ancient Greek Corinthian helmets to ornate suits of armor crafted at the height of the Renaissance.

The Higgins Armory Museum is a nonprofit educational institution that presents the history of arms and armor in a broad cultural context. The Museum achieves its mission by preserving, researching, exhibiting, and interpreting its collections for the benefit of the general public and specialized audiences.

  2. We're having a "Talk like a Pirate" weekend on September 19&20 at the Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester, Masstts. There will be costume contests, cutlass demonstrations and classes, craft workshops, and even some stories about those first pirates, the Vikings.

    Talk Like a Pirate Weekend

A vast ye land lubbers! The pirates have taken over the Higgins Armory Museum. Come dressed as your favorite pirate. Games, crafts, cutlass classes, pirate talking workshops, and more! Prizes for the best dressed pirates. Don't be a bilge rat and miss this swashbuckling event.

We are still looking for volunteers to help make this weekend a success. So any N.E. pirates with swashes to buckle or knots to tie, give me a call.

    Your Obdn't Serv't,

    Cap'n Plaidpete
