I'm what you might call a pirate historian, I've been interested in Pirate history for some time now, I live in North Carolina, { home to Black Beard ) and we have lots of Pirate history along our coast, I saw your forum here and thought I would come aboard.
I was thinking the other day, I bet the pirate's of the Golden Age never knew they would be so famous with people 300 plus years later, I recken their spirit still lives on in people like you.
From one newbie (on this board, at least!) to another, WELCOME ABOARD!!! I've been particularly interested in the history of female pirates, such as Grace O'Malley and Anne Bonney (hence my name...)

Check out me as Alice and my friend Connor as Mad Hatter on Myspace. Those who have me on my facebook can see my pix there as well. Keep checking back as I add more. My friend Miki, who was my photographer, still has so many pix to go through. What an awesome time it was!
You two looked great! I'm really looking forward to this film. It looks amazing!

You look familiar.......have I bumped into you at Escondido and Ojai events?
Welcome to the Pub!
Indeed you have! You may remember me as Captain Lynnie...

Welcome to the Pub.
You'll find many here that love to create a good yarn, some that like to tell them, and some that live them.
And where would "local" be?
- That would be a start.
Yeah, I guess I forgot that part, huh? Local is sunny southern California...

Ahoy, mateys! My friends and I are interested in starting our very own guild of pirate storytellers, but we don't know anything about starting a guild! We've been piratin' a few years now, and can't get enough of it. I'd love to share tales of Anne Bonney, Grace O'Malley and other famous female pirates. We'd also like to spin a few fantastical yarns of our own! Any tips on starting a guild to participate in local pirate fairs would be greatly appreciated!!!
Shake-&-Bake accents

I think each person has their own reasons and motivations for dressing in pirate garb. Some are seriously delving into historical study, in which case only authentic accents should be attempted. Others just enjoy "bein' a pirate", in which case, why not have fun and be a little outrageous? Certainly in this vast world there's room for both types and everyone in between...
