It's a replica of the Batavia (the VOC-ship L. Silver mentions), build between 1985 and 1995 at the Bataviawerf (Batavia Wharf) in Lelystad in the Netherlands. They used traditional materials, tools, and methods in the construction.
The original Batavia was built in 1628 in Amsterdam, and was shipwrecked on her maiden voyage.

The P27 (Police patrol vessel) was build in 1998 by Damen Shipyards in Gorinchem (the Netherlands).
In 2008, the ship has been sold to Rijkswaterstaat (part of the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management), and repainted: Click
