  9. Well...Yeah... But the membership cards are really cool..... membership cards? damn i just got branded with an "F"
  10. Thats very cool. What thickness / Weight leather did you use?
  11. very cool painting. I just did a hunt around and found some more by the same guy. This one shows a ship in the process of careening:
  12. I've dropped the price of these now to $25 including shipping as I have a cheaper paper supplier now. Always interested in trading for my stuff too.
  13. The weird thing is theres actually something really familiar about it, like I have seen it (or similar modern version) on something I encounter but I cant think where I have seen it.
  14. Having scoured everywhere I can think of locally and on t'internet I havent managed to find anything that looks like the trim on this 1650's Dutch belt. Has anyone on here seen anything like this on their travels? The other questions about it are: In your opinion is it even a trim or is it gilt on the actual belt itself? It seems to be quite shiney so what material would you think it was?
  15. You are right I had missed that. I have that book too and the Hunting Trousse in there does indeed include a small metal file. I like the hunting cleaver set on the same page. That would make an interesting project.
  16. Don't know if you managed to get your gator skin Bo but theres a couple of croc skins on ebay at the moment if you didnt. I am making one of the buccaneer knife blocks too but i got to thinking about the description of them. Were steels around in the days of buccaneers? I was under the impression that knives in those days were sharpened using a whetstone or grinding stone.
  17. Well I just have to see if i can find any cheaper paper but if not they work out at around $40 each. I'll get them posted in the thieves market once I have printed all the ones I have got.
  18. Ok just done the first prototype Sea chart and its worked really well. I may need to tweak the size and get the correct shade of paper but other than that it worked out fine. This is a replica of a 1657 Dutch seachart showing Southern Florida, the Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, and Hispaniola. It is printed on period correct Linen and cotton rag laid paper. Size: 20" x 23"

  20. The Cat looks great. I'll definately be interested in one of them once you start making some to sell
  21. very cool. I think i remember reading an inventory that stated a hammer/hatchet could be carried in the part where the hammer goes too. The pictures in michaels post are from the same book that I got my picture of the colonial french swordbelt from. Thinking about it if thats the case maybe thats the reason for the hammer/hatchet as the belt holds a plug bayonet.
  22. ok i have the period correct paper ordered and am just awaiting its arrival so I can get the first maps printed. They are the original size and are all around 18" x 21" So far I have the following sea charts: Irish Sea with Ireland, England and Scotland 1665 Dutch East African coast with Arabia, Madagascar, Seychelles and the Maldives 1666 Dutch The Atlantic Ocean with the coast of North America, South America and the Caribbean Islands 1662 Dutch The west coast of Africa with the Atlantic Islands (Azores, Madeira & Canary Islands) 1666 Dutch As soon as i got some finished I can work out pricing.
  23. very cool. I have actually seen something like this depicted in a painting from the seige of vienna in 1683. Check out the guy in the middle with the brown baldric on. On his belt he has a dual holster with one pistol still in it and the other in his hand. I actually own one of the Omani powder flasks the same as the one in this auction: http://www.auctionfl...action=〈=En I was considering putting it up on here for trade.
  24. Ok i'll get some finished next week then and let you know what sizes and maps I have
  25. I put them on the back burner for a while last year but i'll get back to sorting some out again if people are interested in them.
