  2. I was just checking them out this morning. Some awesome swords there. Soon as I've got this belt out of the way for you and got me wifes bootstrap cutlass I might treat myself to the LJS sword.
  3. I am in the UK and have just bought 2 Queen Anne pistol kits from here: http://www.blackleyandson.com/acatalog/Pistol_Kits.html I cant recommend them just yet though as they are having casting issues so I havent got them at the moment.

been there, done that, and envying the fact that scars are so much cooler when they're on guys ;-) Here's to a good recovery!

  5. Has anyone got any good references to Golden Age or Piracy daggers? Books, websites or photographs? I am making a few different ones for my reenactment group and I'd like to see what was around. At the moment I have references to Plug Bayonets, Hunting daggers and a couple of Main Gauches but i'd like to make a bigger range. Anyone suggest any good places to look?
  6. has spent the day making a pretty cool little replica cuttoe/hunting sword.

  7. Yup, that's the fella. I also do the 1706 color version of that Map
  8. There was this English Chart from 1707 that showed the majority of the Atlantic Ocean. I am just doing one of my replica versions of it now.
  9. I was on the upper deck of the Golden Hind the other month and that slopes quite severely. I didnt have a problem standing on it for the 40 minutes I was there. The only concern I had was that it was raining and I was expecting the wooden floor to get quite slippery and I didnt fancy falling over the rail onto the people fighting on the deck below.
  10. I am really Glad you like them and that they finally got there. They are actually the "lost" maps that have turned up as the replacement ones are still here. I had to wait until after that pesky volcanic dust cloud had moved before I shipped them so they were in the car ready to go out tomorrow ha ha.
  11. Those pictures are great. I did a Degree in Animation a few years back and they are easily as good, if not better then any work produced by the class i was in. Which university are you planning on going too?
  12. They are looking very cool. I did the same thing when I made my treasure chest. Just remember to try and make the top a little uneven so it looks like theres more underneath. I also cut loads of objects in half at angles to look like it was sticking out of the coins. By the way its a bitch to glue all those coins in I can tell you ha ha
  13. If you want any measurements off it Matt let me know and I'll get me calipers out lol
  14. I could do them seperately for $12 each including shipping

  18. I'm actually trying to work out how to make a mold of the whole hilt so I can reproduce it and fit a reenactment grade blade onto it. I think I need to find my liquid latex.
  19. I think I need more Guns then for next year. Them Muskets they were using next to me at the back of the boat are making me think I need one too. They were louder than the bloody cannons.
  20. Here is the Antique English Hunting Hanger I have just treated myself to from the late 17th to early 18th century.
  21. Looking good. I could have used a pair this weekend as the pirate festival I was at was no fun in freezing winds when me stockings kept falling down.
  22. I had the same sword and after a good going over with a grinder and some blade shortening i made this: http://pyracy.com/index.php?showtopic=16209 Although I am dismantling that sword now and shortening the blade a little more to make a 17th century hunting hanger
  23. There's an interesting Brass Map Tube here made for the East India Company late 18th Century http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/18-19c-brass-map-message-case-east-india-company
  24. I think some would have been kept in chests too. I'm sure i've seen map/document chests from the GAOP era on my travels.
  25. I've been doing a bit more research and I am getting mixed info on this button. Some says its an Honourable East India Company button while others say its an 1842 G & J Burns Ltd button. I asked the seller for his source and he says he has a book with the information in and its definately from 1705. I'm a bit puzzled by it to say the least. Dont want to waste money replicating it if its not right
