Wow that is awesome

That sounds very cool. Have you got a picture of it as I am going to make something like that for our artillery displays?
-
It's one of these: I just bought this one but unfortunately the blade tip is missing. I am sure i can create a suitable gory back story as to how it snapped off though. Hopefully I can use this one as a master to create some replica ones too They are bigger than they look in pictures. This one is 13" long when open.

well soon as you get it cast put me down for 3
-
Did you ever finish this one?

A page from THE STORY OF HEMP IN COLONIAL VIRGINIA, a dissertation by George Melvin Herndon, 1959, University of Virginia, gives a picture of hemp in early America. Chapter 6, p. 153: "Because of the time of uneasiness on account of the Stamp Act, a strong movement got underway for families to make hemp into osnaburgs, a kind of coarse linen originally made in Osnabruck, a town in North Germany noted for its manufacture of linen. This linen was used in North America in the making of shirts, jackets, and trousers. "

Swordbelt inspired by the ones worn by Peter the Greats army of Russia from around 1700. I changed the buckle to give it a more Pirate or Militia look. The belt is 2" wide and will fit up to a 48" waist I can make these in Black, Chesnut Brown, Tan or Buff (Natural) Leather. They can be riveted together (like the one shown) or hand stitched. $77 (includes shipping)

Here is a baldric I have just made based on a painting of a 1652 Dutch Military one. I am having replicas made of the actual brass fittings but for this one I used some tudor strap ends I had lying about. The belt holds a Plug Bayonet and has a frog that holds an axe too.

At primary school/kindergarten I was the only one in my class that didnt have a nickname so some bright spark came up with Lee (my real name) rhymes with Pea and Peas come in a Pod. The name has stuck ever since and now even my family call me PoD I like to tell people it stands for Purveyor of Death though in my Pirate Persona
